Can't stand Eminem for like ten years. Purple Hills era is probably when I gave up. Kendrick and Cole do it better.

I respect the direction Cole is taking but man I just prefer his old shyt. Wasn't super deep or anything but it was respectable and they would be bangers too. As a dude who just wants shyt for the gym and the whip this probably won't stay in my rotation

Was doing shoulders and tris couldn't play anything from here honestly and that's rare for Cole.

The highs on here are way better than FHD.

His song concepts and overall lyrical performance are way better on this than FHD. If you took away the excessive singing interludes it would easily be his best album in my opinion.

But then it would only be like 8 songs I kinda like Ville Mentality tho.

I copped this last friday, and found this shyt boring as hell. like I could not even listen to it. it was shockingly bad IMO.

finally listened to the album: this shyt rides like a muthafukka....you can put it on and let it ride 1-10....and i see what cole doing: he getting his roots, jay z on...by that i mean he doing music that will sound damn good live with a band behind him....my shyt so far off the album is 'foldin clothes', 'change', and '4 your eyes only'.....only negative thing i got to say about the album: he shouldve put the 2 tracks he realized as bonus tracks; sucks they not on the album...but i can get over that....

'...i wanna fold clothes for you...'...*2 steppin with a sheba like a muthafukka to that*....

This is his best album imo. Its a minimalist lp in this day in age of over produced horribly sounded noise rap. Finally J.Cole got my attention on records instead of trying be like the next comeup rapper. But compared to alot of independent rap that sounds like this its right in the middle.


By the way to me some of this sounds like Oddisee on production . either way 4/5
