FHD didn’t have a drop like this

I think people are tired of Cole’s sound. Same beats. Same subject matter. Terrible hooks

It has no replay value. People play it because he’s one of the great but once the new Cole smell wears off people stop

J. Cole doesnt have alot of casual fans.

And he doesn't have many radio/pop friendly songs that ppl casually discover and then decide to buy the single. So his hardcore fans support out the gate, then it tails off

In the 'streaming era' people continue to stream for long periods of time and the rappers continue to get paid.

So maybe he has a sharp drop off but if people stream the album steady for a year, unlike other albums people forget in 3 months, he will end up 'selling' more.
Nah, it’s a sign they people don’t really like the music
could this be proof his numbers are cooked? :jbhmm:

The numbers aren’t cooked. The gimmick does him wonders and he’s mad talented.

Cole trying to to make the cheapest music possible is hurting his product the longer his career goes

I’ll explain

Streams..

The end...

His album got streamed a ton when it dropped, which is why his songs charted extraordinarily high...

Whether that be fans, hate clicks, casual people just checking it out.. it streamed a bunch

even the INTRO record, which wasn’t even a song.. had no lyrics, just a female voice talking for 1 minute... debuted on the charts at number 53... let that sink in...

Once the initial hype goes away, streams become slower paced as only people who REALLY fukk with it continue to listen..and shyt goes back to normal.. it’s not rocket science. It’s NORMAL..

And no hate to Cole but unfortunately his album doesn’t have legs like that. There’s no single song that’s gonna bring in millions of streams continuously, and carry him week by week the way an album like DAMN had..

So his numbers came back to reality..

It’s so easy to manupulate numbers these days because of streaming.. You kinda gotta look at the shyt for what it is..

Artists are being urged to drop longer projects for that very reason. Trust me, I’m around enough people to know..

And I mean, it’s simple math... If I stream a 12 song album 5 times, that’s 60 plays in a day.. if I spin a 24 song album 5 times, that’s 120 plays..

Now imagine that same process, but with millions of people...

2018...

There’s a lot of ESPN stats that’s out here fooling y’all.. there’s a reason nikkas like Rae Sremmurd out here dropping “triple albums” that randomly aren’t packaged separately..

Co-sign. This why I don't understand how he's supposedly able to do arena tours.

Nobody is going to sit through a 20+ song album multiple times like that if the shyt is trash, hell some might not even finish it the first time.

I get why that's the trend now, but it's extremely short sighted. A great album with only 10 to 12 songs on it is going to have people play it in it's entirety more than a mediocre album with multiple skips. Those long ass albums boost the first week sales no doubt, after that... it's just a dragging ass record
