Y’all are blind

Making diss records about Lil Pump is a PR stunt

Mimmicking new rappers flows is a PR stunt as a passive agressive diss

Cole whole aura and marketing is a gimmick

ATM is an attempt a hit single( he’s even in the promos for on the playoff commercials)

all of this is true.

If people streamed the album steady he wouldn’t be dropping off the charts so fast.

The last two albums have just been snoozefests and the legs are representative of the quality of the projects.

On top, neither project have big singles so help the streams.

People like lil uzi, post Malone,Kendrick, drakeetc all their projectshave long legs and stay on the charts because people are still listening to the albums

That's not true. Some people who are not die hard fans will check it out cuz its new and may not stick with it. J Cole has a fan base who will stick with it.

Though I won't waste any more time trying to convince you because it's clear you have an agenda and just using my comment so you can rant about how much you don't like the guy.

Are you retarded? I bet I own more j Cole albums than you do. Where The fukk did I rant about how much I don't like him.

The numbers speak for themselves. Your "theory" is stupid because we have an actual metric for how much people are listening to an album available.

Nobody is going to sit through a 20+ song album multiple times like that if the shyt is trash, hell some might not even finish it the first time.

I get why that's the trend now, but it's extremely short sighted. A great album with only 10 to 12 songs on it is going to have people play it in it's entirety more than a mediocre album with multiple skips. Those long ass albums boost the first week sales no doubt, after that... it's just a dragging ass record

I know you're responding to what he said....but fans don't gotta stream a whole album.

You could drop an "album" with 40 songs and if 1-2 are hits (and statistically speaking, the more songs you drop = the higher chance you'll have a hit) then those two songs alone can carry your album to plat/multi-plat and/or Billboard placement. Because individual song streams count towards album sales and certification.

There's not much incentive now to drop a cohesive project.

I don't agree.

A hit song will carry any album in the streaming era. All I'm getting at is that, with a cohesive condensed project, people are going to listen to everything else on the album more. Where as, when you have 20+ tracks on a mediocre album, after that initial listen, people will just go to the 3 or 4 standouts and then go listen to something else.

With KOD... it only has 11 songs on it and they aren't all close to the highlights of the album, so his numbers will reflect that IMO.

Views dropped over 70%, Damn 60 percent and To pimp a butterfly 67%

Classic Coli to post something about one artist and then drop propaganda like comments like it’s not the norm.

Cole broke the record for second week drop with 4YEO( now held by Logic)

This album suffers the same fate

Yeezus & Kingdom Come are on the list as biggest second week drops which shows you how this happens

All these big albums are still within a pretty tight interval 70-80 percent. It's not as if Cole is 75 and the rest of the game is at 33%.

It's mostly driven by you having a bunch of hyped and active fans, so all you fans are interested enough to cop the first week. Instead of letting an album be out for 3 weeks before you cop. Coles drop is also driven by the fact that he doesn't really have big pop singles out driving his sales, it's really the fans.

Why? He's going platinum or multiplatinum, got Nas-stan-like irritating stans and selling out arenas. Why would he switch up? The only thing he needs to switch up is the music imo, everything else is impressively well executed.

I agree with this..

I think we all prefer shorter albums. It’s quality over quantity, always. We aren’t arguing that...

I’m just shining light on the fact that labels are encouraging longer projects to manipulate the numbers system. I don’t necessarily agree with it, but trust me when I say it’s a trend that not only exists but is encouraged and will continue to get much worse...

There’s a reason Tory Lanez debut album was 28 tracks, and full of skits..

You think that’s what he intended to release? It was everyone’s biggest complaint.. it’s all a numbers game right now, and keep in mind - you don’t have to play an entire song for it to equate into 1 stream..

artists with integrity might strive to put out quality projects, but these record labels don’t give a fukk about the listener unfortunately

I’m talking about the music but I think we all need to realize that Cole’s goal is to make music as cheap as he possibly can and if he keeps getting enough success he won’t switch up.

Cole doesn’t want to spend the money on Features of production and why would at this point.

He needs new subject matter tho
