Those are BIG numbers in this climate. Good for him. I like how he's reaching out to his fanbase and everything :obama:

Respect to Cole

I copped it off the strength of his presence in the past months protest. The actual social commentary is rudimentary. Cole comes off as someone who just found out the world ain't fair. But, felt he earned a look.

I'm surprised ppl even knew this album was out for it to sell like that. Didn't think that was possible.

Not for nothing but that's a post worthy of its own thread. Have we finally reached the breaking point? I'm curious to see what the future holds.:ehh:

Yeah, we have reached a breaking point. Yes, there are still some zombie nikkas and birds out there but there are a lot of people getting out of the comatose state. Whether its black consciousnesses or the Israelite movement (the real deal :youngsabo:)...people are starting to question this country and what they were taught on a deeper level. This country is in for a rude awakening. All this killing of our people by the system is just waking up a sleeping giant. Its like we are at the initial stages of a Voltron formation. Feel like this:

Ezekiel 37
10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
I think there is a backlash against minstrel rap. 2014 was a messed up year for our people but the good thing is, our people are slowly starting to wake up out of their dead state and gain some sort of a consciousness.

Between him and Kendrick I think they're going to lead that 4th quarter comeback, there seems to be a shift coming.

Dave Matthews of Hip Hop

He's not wack, might not be necessarily remarkable or dope either. You might not get why everyone around your way at school/work/college likes him cause he appears to be a bit dull and not very unique but he has a fanbase that always turns out even when he's not doing the trendy thing and you can appreciate the down to earth nature of his records.

Most definetly the Dave Matthews of Hip Hop

Cole is gonna be doing festivals and drawing numbers till he's 50.

Bu bu bu J Cole puts me to sleep

:salute: for Hip Hop

Hip Hop beats,in its traditional format, are the "boring" beats. Those hi-hats and the 808s that are popular today is the southern trap sound that people been conditioned to hear. Guess all these years of ratchet southern inspired mainstream shyt is finally coming to a head. With all the police brutality cases, nikkas are finally starting to expand their options outside of the girl/club friendly songs on radio.

I think there is a backlash against minstrel rap. 2014 was a messed up year for our people but the good thing is, our people are slowly starting to wake up out of their dead state and gain some sort of a consciousness.

I'm telling you, the record companies and the "streets" of making music doesn't relate to the normal person anymore. Always some swagged out, super thug killer shyt that no one can possibly relate to image is finally looking :ld: to many people. Hope Cole's and Kendricks numbers inspire people to make better music and build a fanbase organically again.

Not for nothing but that's a post worthy of its own thread. Have we finally reached the breaking point? I'm curious to see what the future holds.:ehh:

I can see this ratchet shyt lasting a few more years, unfortunately. Lil Wayne gotta fall off and become unpopular to the likes of Young Thug, Young Thug himself gotta underperform in sales, Nicki falling off and making sex tapes :dead: , one hit wonders' demands from the public coming to an end, and more quality artists are needed factors to make the positive shift of Hip Hop complete.
