Cardi dropped a masterpiece for what was expected of her. Cole didn't drop what was expected of him. Not hard to figure out.

That said this isn't bad. Just not great.
What’s expected of him?? I mean dude has clearly found his lane and he’s doing good in it. I just laugh at how people consume hiphop now. Like I’m not even saying it’s a great album or classic, all I’m saying is how is this album so wack compared to the other music being released now? You can not like it or say it’s not for me but I’m smh at people just completely going out of their way to crap on that mans albums lol. J. Cole is needed in the current hiphop climate.

He needs new material!

J Cole raps about the same exact shyt on ever project and I’m including the Come up

He’s covered topics like Once a addict and 1985 numerous times before

I feel like the people praising this album are fans that focus on BARs and if they are good then the song is good. There is no way someone can say the production, hooks and song structure on this project is good

DAP + REP for iTunes-ready files. Album ripped directly from highest-quality FLAC.

DAP + REP.

(It's late so you'll have it by morning)

What are you talking about? This album is not up to par with The Cole we grew to Love since 09

1985 is a Uzi Vert diss.

Uzi beefing with Offset, Rich the kid, and got a diss record from J.Cole.

He got a full plate.

Where are you getting a Uzindiss from? He’s just rapping

Need to know where people rank this among his albums cause this is most definitely not better than Born Sinner.

I put FHD and Born Sinner above it

And Sideline Story and For your Eyes only beneath it

I really like it though, easy listen. It just the right length. Don't really see any hit songs on it but there aren't any songs I feel like I have to skip so far... Most importantly, he spitting real shyt. Nothing seems forced

the rapping on here is top notch, bar for bar it doesn't seem like many can compete with him on that level. song wise i don't really like it that much, 2014FHD & Born Sinner is a much better album off of first listen. this is better than 4YEO tho. i'm worried this won't have much replay value but i'll see if that's the the case in a week or two.

Really wasn’t feeling it initially, but thought it picked up in the 2nd half.

1985, Once an Addict, Window Pain are the standouts for me
