For the record, I don't know if Cole has called NaS or not about it but the fact is NaS and Jay are very cool so if he really had that much of an issue or it hurt him that bad, I'm sure he could of gotten NaS number and talked it out instead of doing a song called "Let NaS Down".

:dahell: you want him to call Nas when Nas aint even give him his number?

and you want him to get Nas number from Jay-Z no less :mjpls:

i understand what you sayin..

but, here's the catch.. NO I.D. played the track for Nas, for his feedback.. how is he wrong for telling homie Nas didn't like it..? it's just criticism..

if he can't take criticism(especially from one of his so-called favorites)why be in the game..?

you know how much I got criticized by cats I looked up to before I made it in the game..? you know.. It's part of the game, homie.. take it, tighten up and KIM..

U right...I feel u..

I can't say anything to match the articulate truth bomb that Ziggiy blessed us all with, so I'll just give some brief thoughts on this shyt. When I first heard the title I laughed and started thinking "damn, Cole on that stan rap shyt..." Heard the song last night and I gotta say...shyt is real dope. Arguably one of Cole's best song.

I'd love to hear Nas' view on this song. Especially the You Owe Me line, which is rings to most Nas fans. Nas has hit with a few radio tracks, but more than a few were pretty wack (more wack than Work Out...). Summer On Smash comes to mind most recently.

Gotta give Cole dap for this shyt. I love this rap shyt, and anyone who loves hip hop loves Nas. For all his flaws and failings, he's still the GOAT to me. This track really puts it in perspective for me, without being stan-ish like Big Brother.

(also Cole learned his lesson: Power Trip is a hit without being too stupid lyrically)
I just don't get why he mentioned that Nas made "U Owe Me" as if Nas criticized the song for being commercial...this is the problem with the thinking right there..he didnt say..."Cole buggin for makin this commercial shyt"..he said "I ain't really feelin that joint..don't this nikka Cole know he the next one"..he was disappointed in the song in itself...not the fact that it was commercial...also any fan knows when that song came out it didnt even sound like a J Cole song..it sounded like he was literally TRYING for a radio hit...on top of that...that shyt was supposed to be Cole's FIRST breakout single....and it was forced...u gotta put that shyt in perspective..it's like damn...I think this nikka mad talented...but he puts out his first single and it's not even a reflection of who he is as an artist at all..that's prolly also what Nas was thinking...

I don't get where everyone are saying that it didn't sound like a cole song or that Most cole fans didn't it like it. Everyone thatI know that was into cole, liked it. People over at Kanyetothe were loving it and other forums were kicking it too, hell even *****'s /mu/ board was feeling it. so everyone needs to chillout with these :duck: about Cole fans not liking Workout. No one thought that until Let Nas Down got leaked.

Me and my Art Teacher bumped Workout all the time and we :salute: Cole for making a breakout song. He needed the exposure, something to reel in the mainstream. After that people started checking out his catalog. He didn't sacrifice his entire creative integrity with this joint. You making it sound like dude was made a bubble gum pop joint like "Starships". It had the cool ass dwele sample which was BOMB. nikka was on his rap croon tip. It sounded like Cole, nikka was being cornball like he usually is with these Saturday morning cartoon humour joke lines.
He made a radio friendly song that core fans can ride to.

I wish someone else could've said this and not Nas, and for example Let Rakim Down.
Cause from this extremely dope ass joint all I'm seeing on here are people discussing Nas and Cole's relationship and how Cole should handle his personal problems on some gossip girl shyt, as if it's relevant to the song.
