J Cole will never impress Nas cause he ain't that interesting. Cole is cool for what he is but nothing bout him or his life will give him material or lyrics to make a catalog like Pac or Nas. These new rappers from decent backgrounds gotta realize that. He might as well sell out and go pop and stop trying be more serious than he needs to be.

The song was aight but I agree the title is weird and he shoulda changed the hook, it woulda came off better IMO.

The bottom line is this. NaS never told Cole he didn't like the song. He told No I.D. For Cole to make this song without hearing NaS opinion personally is why I think it's too much. Also the side "You Owe Me" diss was also a little uncalled for as someone mentioned. "You Owe me" wasn't the 1st commercialize song NaS did, that was on his 4th album. Because you didn't even talk to NaS about his opinion, you don't know the context. Cole just assumed NaS didn't like it cause it was commercial. Maybe he thought it was just weak. This is why a phone call probably would of been better. He could of done this same song and not even mention NaS. Naming it "Let NaS down" is clearly to get people to listen to the song and hype the song. If all it was about is label politics and doing commercial songs, I don't know why NaS is even brought up. Sorry I'm torn in the song personally. Not a bad track but I just think it wasn't necessary to single out NaS with the whole story.

What about all the times he let Jay-Z down with these "hits?" :usure:

It might be reach but if you think about it calling it "Let NaS Down" was like a Jay subliminal cause Jay was pushing Cole to make a "Hit" and NaS was disappointed in Cole for making that "Hit". So he made Jay Happy while Letting NaS Down. LOL.

It's funny he brought up U Owe Me, but Nasir was already four albums (2 universal classics) deep.

What's Cole excuse for not making that classic album, when he said it's time for the new generation to take the reins from the old one :childplease:
