The reaction to this song on twitter is everything I hate bout the bird app. And look I’m not saying he isn’t talking down a bit but there is something to putting a topic such as this in a rhyme that’s still comendable

The way twitter has spun the narrative of this song literally has me like :mindblown: dude wasnt even close to being disrespectful, he was basically saying being ‘woke’ ain’t a competition. But of course people need more ammo for the BM vs BW war on Twitter :martin:

My reaction to just hearing the song in isolation was :ehh: but after reading the reactions from twitter in this thread, I’m sitting here like :snoop:

I guess the black unity only lasted 3 weeks and it’s back to blue tick twitter criticising black men all the time.

I've seen some tweets where theyre going to the point of saying "we're not gonna march in the street for y'all if you won't for us." And it's not only really dumb... But extremely dangerous.

People are protesting against police brutality that happens to BOTH black men AND black women. So if these tweets are to be believed, they're just gonna stay home if a man gets killed in an act of racial violence? What if that's their son, father, brother, cousin or husband? Is that suddenly not important anymore? That's insanity and nobody should ever cosign this because this is no different than the same shyt these white supremacists are pushing.

In fact, I question if these accounts are truly black. Now is the worst possible time for something like this to gain traction, and this isn't even Cole's fault.

The fake deep God is back :blessed:

Managed to centre a song about the struggle for black liberation around himself and his ego...his feeling of self importance knows no limits :wow:

disclaimer

i don't have twitter so it's only now in this thread i'm seeing the kickback from others so don't group me into that batch. Most of them people are lowkey mentally ill.

And tbh, if cole's msg for the song is getting misinterpreted by a lot of people, that's on him as an orator :yeshrug: he constantly half steps with the opinions he gives in his songs I can understand people not totally getting his stance

Long story short...........

The fake deep God strikes again :blessed:

lol what a shytty time to be an artist. Cole dropped a great record, and instead of talking about how dope it is...we now talking about "tone policing", tweets, and feminism.

what a pussified era we in
Wtf is tone policing?

This song is trash but if Cole is getting at the Twitter activist I’ll rock with it :ehh:

i saw something about Noname earlier on Twitter but it appeared to be bashing black men so I ignored it. Who is she?

She threw a shot at Kendrick and Cole first and now that he gave her attention she better not hide behind “I’m a women”. He wasn’t mean or hateful when a addressing her. Those chicks on twitter making this bigger then it needs to be and it’s getting on my nerves.

fukk them hoes
