Kendrick is definitely the superior talent to Cole. Its like saying Nas is superior to Ghostface. Both are excellent artists/MCs but one is a generational talent the likes of which borders on genius.

No it’s not. AT ALL. There’s plenty shyt Nas can do rhyme wise that Ghost just cant do. Plenty subjects Nas has touched on. Concepts. The list goes on. U can’t say the same for Kendrick and Cole and Cole is arguably a better lyricist than Kendrick. U nikkas need to cut this bullshyt out.

I think “the fall off is inevitable” showcases better writing than duckworth.

I think “what if” is on par with “reincarnated” on purely writing level

I don’t have too much to pull from as far as songs that Cole uses personification, but that’s really more down to their writing personalities

And as far as matching or exceeding 4YEO title song, I think that’s heavily debatable but I don’t think he really has to. Cole’s approach to writing isn’t as sweaty and intricate as Kendrick’s. (it’s like biggie and pac low key: I thought biggie was better but pac was the more effective writer) He’s way more direct while maintaining technical precision, his bag is so diversified that he can give me songs like

Apparently
Love Yours
Lost One’s

And I’d never care another 4YEO. They’re both supremely talented writers whose body of works reflect two completely different approaches to writing. I prefer Cole’s you prefer Kendrick’s. just don’t tell me I’m crazy for preferring Cole’s

To say no one even "remembers" Kendrick's performances is false, the buzz from Kendrick's Untitled performances DIRECTLY led to Untitled Unmastered even being released when neither Kendrick nor TDE planned to do so. These performances had everyone from Lebron James to Barack Obama clamoring for official releases, SPECIFICALLY his performance of Untitled verses from his 2016 Grammys performance, which absolutely EVERYONE remembers and I simply can't link because there are currently no YouTube links

Cole is similar to Pac in away his music touches those emotionally. He can make connection to the everyday man and it just resonates more. Love Yourz being a staple for his live performances still brings tears to fans.

Cole is also better at features than Dot and when it comes to conscious music Cole is more anti establishment pro black while Kendrick lingers on respectability politics.
