J Cole The Fall Off 2/6 Anticipation and Discussion thread

Was trying to come up with an NBA comp for Cole and the best I could do was Lamarcus Aldridge.
Came into the game with all the hype in the world and for the most part had a great career. Made a ton of money and were well liked and respected by all but never lived up to the expectations. Numerous times throughout people believed they were ready to make the leap to being truly elite all time great but it just never happened.

Drake=LeBron: Star power, dominant individual run from day one.

Steph=Kendrick: Assassin whose run interrupted the dominant guy. Clashed at the top and won against him.

J. Cole=KD: Slightly aloof purist, exists on a spectrum with the other two in terms of peak greatness. Criticized for backing out the battle the way KD was criticized for joining the Warriors.

Reasonable comparisons.
Personally feel that KD is way more elite as a scoring forward than Cole has ever been at anything though.

I been listening to the album and it's better than I originally gave it credit for but still too long. He could have trimmed this down to about 10 songs and had a better rated project.

I think the tone of the track was reciprocal to how Dot spent most of the “Like That” verse going at Drake. Even after “Muthafukk the Big 3 nikka it’s just BIG me”. Dot used “your”best album a light pack, yea prince out lived mike jack. I’m still confused on why people wanted Cole to drop Ether

Cole revealing that Dot was on TWO tracks on TFO was all I needed to know the beef wasn’t real. Imagine releasing TFO and both Drake and Kendrick on it after that Like That verse lmao. Insanity. Then finding out Cole received the FPS beat and that’s it from Drake. No hook, no lyrics no confext of a song all while heads were lying saying the were conspiring against Dot. Nah
