I'm not even trying to diminish what he did with that song cause it's a classic imo. But my issue is when they ramp up his talent and songwriting while trying to diminish Cole's and everyone else. That's where I hold issue.
Same, i think he’s talented, but stan’s take the shyt too far.

All/most rappers get lots of help with beats/hooks/song composition/etc

Which is why they are usullay not judged by that stuff, just their rhymes.

But dudes get on here talmbout how Kendrick is the Goat at all that, while people who actually produce their own music have no talent.

Kendrick sound comes from a team of people, and that’s ok. Dudes just need to be honest about it. :manny:

Sometimes that creates your best work cause you not overthinking :manny:
You call it rapping about nothing but I found it a better listening experience than this album all the way through :manny:
Different strokes for different folks. I remember when GNX came out and some were saying that was Kendrick’s best album or top 3. To me, it’s my least favorite by him,
Off season had balance. Hunger on hillside, close, let go of my hand and pride is the devil had content. It was nice to see Cole let loose on tracks like Amari, 95South, applying pressure, punching in the clock and the climb back. Some of Coles best rap performances
Never said it wasn’t good and he was definitely spitting. Just not my favorite.
Ya’ll CRAZY if you listened to The Off Season and came out thinking Cole wasn’t talking about nothing. My Life? Let Go My Hand? 100 Mil? Interlude? The Climb Back? HUNGER ON HILLSIDE?!?

Thats one of Cole’s most well balanced albums.
I guess Cole is crazy himself when he dismisses it as “practicing.” Of course he’s gonna touch on things, but the songs themselves don’t really have a clear concept. 100 Mill is actually my favorite song off that album.
