Joe has never been in any argument as the top rapper or most popular rapper at any moment in his lifetime.

He's just great at networking so he's always getting support, plus he's "real hip-hop" certified because of his early background, and he's able to come out with a hit every other year out of nowhere. But he was never consistent as a popular rapper like Ja was at one point. Ja vs. Nelly is probably the most equal comparison/battle for this.

But let's not go overboard. I hear talks of people saying he would beat 50 in a vs battle.:comeon: Ja took us back last night but let's not go crazy he would lose to 50 on a live stage battle.

IMO, he would beat 50 too; as we saw last night, people seriously minimize just how big/relevant to the game Jarule was in his prime, especially in NY

I'm still trying to figure out how people actually thought Fat Joe was going to win. Then again, The Booth places relevance above everything.

I had him winning from my POV, since he had a wider catalog to pull from, and still considered "active" comparatively, he could put up a better fight to draw in all types of people in the crowd...could drop shyt for the DITC heads, jump to pun collabs, bigger songs, etc.

I think with better song selection, he would've fared better than he did...also tone down the forced shyt talk.

he would've benefited more from being on that friendly / story telling steez like he is in interviews. Would have been funner hearing how some songs came together, than that fake ass fukk you ja rule talk he was doing.

Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster
50 would smoke him

Ja is a great performer though

Ja Rule's hits are structurally better songs and overall more memorable.

And while i'm at it, in retrospect, Clap Back was heat.

Nothing on Massacre is anything i'd play in my whip today. Or anything G Unit did past 2005.

I did enjoy Ayo Tech and Infant By Me (Be A Millionaire).

Fat Joe has gone platinum. Now we're starting to put too much emphasis on these verzus battles like it's the final measure of an artist's catalogue.

We're also putting too much emphasis on these plaques too. Going platinum is mostly a product of marketing. Plenty of trash has gone platinum, not saying Fat Joe is trash or anything, just saying tho.
