STEM-degreed and skilled trades black men from around the country should move to Jackson and turn it around.

Man I don't know.

I was pissed off earlier this summer when I had to go 12 hours without running water lol.

I have 3 toilets in my house which meant I could only use the bathroom 3 times in 12 hour span. A brother was seriously contemplating getting a hotel for a day lol

Sorry. The only way blacks can turn it around is through wealth and taking over the local government. Skilled tradesmen are great but that isn't how the game is played. Respectfully saying.
Jackson is 80% black. We already run the local government. Skilled tradesmen and STEM degree holders are likely to have marketable skills and higher incomes, and thus a greater ability to build wealth. Jackson only has a population of 160K, and that number is almost certainly shrinking by the day. Coli brehs could take over and make it the new Atlanta.

If that's the case they need to change who's running the local government. Still, skilled tradesmen won't be the solution. It needs to be investments that will bring businesses which in turn create jobs. I'm just taking a guess but I wonder if Jackson is a poor area where the local government isn't receiving enough tax dollars so they neglected the instructure. We saw this happen in Flint too. If you read books check out "How to Kill a City". It's about gentrification but it talks about how investments and urban planning changes areas. It's an old book so it may be found in a public library.

The people from there were saying the ignorance level is off the charts. Is that true?

Anyone know anything further about this story?

The Mississippi lawsuits claim that children were exposed to dangerous levels of lead for years and that numerous Jackson and state officials attempted to cover it up.

The lawsuits allege that the city learned of its lead problem within its water well system in 2013 and was warned again in 2014 but instead of addressing the problem, the city attempted a quick fix that made it worse.

The litigation was filed against the city of Jackson, the state Department of Health, Trilogy Engineering Services and other current and former city and state officials including Jackson Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba.

Jackson’s water system is crumbling after years of neglected maintenance and upgrades. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has said the system poses “imminent and substantial” danger to consumers.

Except the people in flint were criminalized. They knowingly switched over to contaminated pipes and the state didn’t even know about it hence why many were put in prison.

This is not the same situation. Mississippi as a whole(governor and legislature) is with holding funds from Jackson to fix the issue.
The agenda was the same, deprive those black cities of clean water, that was my point. Dont try to argue semantics that's what's wrong with you fukk nikkas
