We should encourage kids not to swallow whatever they are being fed. You want to know why we continue to be at the bottom of the totempole? Its because we dont have the audacity to dream.
This, exactly. I hate when people tell dreamers to think 'realistically', because if we're going to go along those lines, half of the things we currently have now would've never been possible if we didn't think outside the box. From freedom as slaves, to the technological, scientific and medical advancements we currently have today. Look at what gains traction in the media. Kim Kardashian's bare ass and pointless shyt. Materialism and ignorance is rewarded, and intelligence with golden morals are laughed at and considered 'lame'. Creativity is taboo and it's encouraged to follow every trend without question... yet ironically, the ones who created a trend were the same ones people laughed at in the beginning. I mean, we just landed on a fukkin comet, dog... and all we care about is another man or woman's riches or tomfoolery.
Meanwhile, you got misguided kids out here toting guns, money and drugs on the 'Gram, and since that's the hot thing to do right now, people go look at that and become fascinated with all of that.. which in turn, encourages these misguided youths to continue down their road of destruction. Next thing you know, they're facing a triple-felony charge with no chance of parole if convicted, and all that's running through their mind is "why didn't anyone stop me?" However, some people will go to the grave, clinging to the ignorance they've lived all their lives.. since their ignorance is like a safety blanket. They're ignorant because a lot of them don't like the responsibility, after all.. "Ignorance is bliss". That's what society encourages, that's the future pop culture seems to love. And since we all know how Blacks are perceived in the media, it can only get worse from there. But you will never hear society say the truth, because it's a dirty secret they're ashamed of, like that bad report card in school. And that's why I have such a huge disdain for society's perceptions on things.
) We'll see if they end up depressed and drugged out in about 10 years or if this opportunity they been given will be used wisely.
