I heard something about PMD doing a lot of writing and production for EPMD early on. Same for Tribe with Phife as far as bars earlier on, i know for a fact he wasnt penning anything at first.
Production??

From my understanding E double always did all the production for EPMD...

He did all of Redman’s first joint and was known as a dope producer

I've listened to 18 minutes of it passively and it's alot. Part of it is she doesn't name any Roots members by names she just mentions things and you kind of have to follow. She did call out Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, and Common because they didn't post about him and she says they know him personally and/or had personal interactions with him. Mentioned a story of Malik drinking Jill Scott's wine once and her being pissed.

Essentially she had a problem with Questlove's post on Malik. She didn't feel like he gave him his proper due as a founding member. Said Malik as an MC was ill like he had so many bars other people was stealing his bars and he wouldn't even know cause he forgot she he even said.

Wanted to emphasize that he wasn't an "addict" but he struggled with addiction. And said that nobody who still doing any type of vice should ever call him an "addict". Also said they couldn't tell him to stop what he was doing cause they was doing shyt too. Alluded to one of the Roots members (Questlove) having a drinking problem which is why he had a cast on the Tonight Show. He broke his arm in some drinking related incident...idk if it was domestic violence related but she didn't mention his wife

Also said Black Thought stopped fukking with her cause she stopped fukking him. She didn't mention his stage name when she said this. She was going on a rant about MeToo and her p*ssy and then said Mr. Trotter (BlackThought's last name)

She also talked about her and Black Lily not receiving proper credit and compensation for work they did.

Talks about them on the tour bus fukking bytches and how they shouldn't have been doing that on there. She'd wake up and they'd be watching porn and eating cereal :laff:
Being in denial about being an addict is

a fatal mistake. Not feeling how she was

trying to play it down.

Black Thought got folk fooled out here. Just a friendly reminder that dude used to always mention that he was tight with pimp c, project pat, and ball &mjg and hung out in the south with them.

And we know most of them cats loved that powder.

...:sas2:

The entertainment game's so fake &

sheisty, it'll make you turn to that powder.

My uncle's a former concert promoter.

He'd reinforce the "Never meet you

heroes" motto all the time. With a look

of :mjcry: on his face.

That’s what u think. Lol. Fam Thought been nasty for goin on 30 years. And STILL nasty. Prolly even more sharp now than ever. And shorty ain’t been around these dudes for almost 20 years. Thought style is still what it is.

I have no dog in this race, and I like Black Thought, but do you know why he chose to rap a rhyme from an already written song at the BET cypher, and not a freestyle?

He rarely goes fully off the top when he's performing, or on camera. He gives a few bars off top, spits penned bars, then a couple of more bars off top. Unless someone asks him to freestyle, or feeds him topics/words, you'll get what I call frittens.

Some of y'all are the reason these crazy ass ho's have so much power. Y'all better understand that the same shyt can happen to you tomorrow. Build up an empire and have that shyt taken down cause some bitter ass woman has a grudge against you. It's pretty damn clear this bytch has a mental illness. When you lose all your friends and end up alone in your 40's it's for a reason. It's cause you prolly been a piece of shyt your whole life.

This bytch talking trash on all those rappers yet she admits she fukked like half of em. WHILE she was married at that:mjlol:.....she sounds more angry that none of these artists wifed her up. They just got some p*ssy from her and passed her off to the next man in line. And they all moved on and kept succeeding. Kept evolving. If she was really that talented she would have her own illadelph halflife. She would have her own ressurection. Her own words and sounds. But she don't. Cause she was never on that level.

Some of y'all really disappointed cause you found out your favorite conscious rappers like to fukk groupies :mjlol:......y'all never listened to old common sense?:what:.....dude rapped about fukking ho's damn near every song :pachaha:.....I could care less what any of these rappers do in their personal life. We all got our vices. They still made legendary music :yeshrug:

But it's good to see this story got ignored and swept away. That alone let's you know this bytches words hold no weight.

According to P, he did 90% of the production for the 1st 3 albums. P and E wrote their own rhymes.

PMD: The Morning Star Pt. 2

AHH: When you and Eric did have problems was it politics, money, or ego?

PMD: With me, I was lucky because I was handling

the business. The only thing that I didn't do on EPMD's first 3 albums was write

Eric's rhymes. Eric wrote his own rhymes. 90% of the production, PMD did. So

when your wrapped up in the production, the management, the business, and the

touring, I was in a zone. I had options, but the problems started in 1991 and

it all came to a head in 92. I was like let me finish this business and then

I'll get back and see what's going on. Luckily I did that because that was what

made the legendary status.

From Erick's standpoint, it was 50/50 on the production of the 1st 3 albums and he did the majority of the 4th album production, Business Never Personal.

DJ scratch said he did ""rampage' on the 3rd album.

For Business Never Personal, you could tell Erick did the majority of production. You can hear the beats style continue on Red's 1st album and Erick's debut solo album.

Erick also did "spellbound" for K-solo,even though Solo was P's artist. Red was Erick's. Das Efx they shared but others produced Das' 1st album.

P tried to do production again on his own debut solo album, but :yeshrug:

what your are saying holds weight with good points, its false to say she isnt talented or has that type of talent though. Its cats in the hood that could ball better than cats in the league and they didnt make it for whatever reason (s) it was. shyt happens. Besides She already proved her abilities live on stage, most of these singing chicks popping now arent singing like that.

A lot of those ball players don’t have the shot. She had the shot and for whatever the circumstances. Blew it. Shorty def got talent tho.

Doesn't the fact that she openly revealed her own dirt lend credence to the comments she aired out about others in her circle?

Like I said before, The Roots and the acts associated with them were WORKING musicians. Technically always touring and performing to earn their living. 2-4 shows a week grinding across the country and overseas. These types of groups know each other very well with all the time they spend around each other.
The stories she's telling are real. Her take or recollection might be slanted or have some extras on it, but these stories aren't fabricated. For example until you guys saw/heard Black Thought say that Dice was his all out writing partner, I'm sure that you thought that her take on that story was a complete fabrication. The juelzing started after that, and it was hilarious to watch.

Sis is having on ongoing breakdown dealing with a lot of death as she remembers the murder of her son. You are calling her out of her name as if she's talking about your family and not a rap group that you like. You've taken this way too personally. A fan is one thing, but this is ridiculous.

As far as Jag's failure to breakthrough as a solo artist, it happens. Lot of things go into marketing singers and music, and it did not work out for her. I doubt that singing talent had anything to do with it. The demons she carries around that are on display now contributed to it, obviously.

A chick can just rant and say anything and yall just run with it. Let Thought and Common speak on it before yall jump to conclusions.
