For those who are wondering what exactly she brought to the table this is a clip from 1999
Not cosigning her specific grievances but she made these brothers look mad vanilla on stage next to her.

Quest is the ultimate cornball.

I remember a thread on OKP where he was in some building (maybe where he lives, I don't remember) and he was about to get in the elevator and some white broad was there.

This nikka proceded to explain how he made himself seem as unthreatening and polite as he possible could, only for the white chick to still act scared of him.

nikka went on to rant about how upset he was about it.

He wanna be accepted by them folks so bad.

The nikka said he cared more about what Pitchfork said about his albums as opposed to XXL, the Source and standard hip hop outlets.

Several people have accused Cube of copying. Cypress story is well known, but Cube allegedly stole flows and bars from Volume 10also.
other barely remembered rappers made those accusations over the years too

Man biting ain't ghost writing. And I'm well aware of what you're talking about. I still got "Hiphopera" on cassette. But biting (which Cube is most likely guilty of) ain't what is being discussed.

Just pointing that he tripped himself up.
In rushing to refute the allegations, he stuck his chest out talking about what dudes from HIS era don't do and would never do.

His own words from the old Hiphopdx interview contradicts the line he's trying to feed us now.

No because you're assuming he wrote for someone from his era. The convo is "Dice Raw wrote for Thought". He said "people from my era don't do that" to kill the allegation that he wrote for Thought.

The old interview talking about "I was involved with major successful music (or whatever he said) that nobody knows I did" clearly ain't talking about Thought.

Not understanding how the two things contradict each other.

I'm not trying to be dense or a contrarian here, but explain how Thought calling Dice a "writing partner" somehow translates into "Dice is writing Thought's bars"

If the two of them are writing a song TOGETHER (key word, TOGETHER), how is that a controversial term or statement?

If Eric and Parrish wrote "You Gots To Chill" together and in an interview PMD refers to Eric Sermon as his writing partner, that doesn't mean E-Dubb was penning the Mic Doc's lyrics for him. (And I get that they're in a group, but I don't see any difference between that and two dudes in a lab together penning some shyt. I've wrote verses with other cats in the lab, that's the creative writing process in any genre of music).

And dudes seem to be neglecting that Dice Raw and Thought sound nothing alike when they rhyme. Dice ain't wack but his shyt is basic as fukk at the core of most of his rhymes. Which I could see as being more suited for writing hooks as Thought said.

I feel you but it makes sense only if Dice is actually also spittin on all them tracks, don't you think?

Like imagine if Rakim had a writing partner but you only ever heard Ra spit on the track :jbhmm:

"the unlocking" by the roots hits a little different now

it starts with Common & Thought on the phone about running a train :francis:

my thing is, if they were making skits about this shyt, then how are they hypocrites/contradictory?

That's why I think hiphop would be better off with little to no reviews or media. Cause media will fabricate a perception of an artist/band, that sticks with them the rest of their lives.

Even mos def said "stop with the nonsense, like, 'he conscious'/ I'm just awake dog/ I'm doin great dog"

but time and time again people won't let them outta that box.

Then when info gets revealed that doesn't match/fit inside the box, instead of erasing the box that THEY put the artist in, they keep the box, and call the info a contradiction :pachaha:

"All out WRITING PARTNER"

Writing Partner is more exclusive than writing team, whatever that may be :sas2:

That's really an r&b/other genre's outside of rap term. Marvin, Stevie, Beyonce (:mjlol: ultimate non writer, some folks think she's that deal though), and etc. All critically acclaimed writers by folks and had someone helping them write at some point/or some projects.

Cats fail to realize dope writers sometimes need a boost themselves, writers block isnt relegated to just novelist and etc.

Someone like Drake who doesnt write at all is where the wack shyt comes into play.

I heard something about PMD doing a lot of writing and production for EPMD early on. Same for Tribe with Phife as far as bars earlier on, i know for a fact he wasnt penning anything at first.

It means exactly what he said. WRITING PARTNER nikka. Meaning they write songs together. If I got a nikka who I’m in a group with and he writes most of the hooks and concepts and I write the rhymes. That’s my fukking WRITING PARTNER.

Y’all being disingenuous as fukk. U think if the nikka was writing his damn rhymes he would’ve flat out said that like that? Come the fukk on.

The Roots is a band fam. If u and the next man write most of the music together for the band. That’s a writing partner. People really forget these nikkas is a band. Not a rap group.
