:wow:

From like 2000-2007 there wasn’t a day that went by I wasn’t on OKP, that whole scene was everything to me back then. Hearing all of this shyt is wild, but not surprising.

Just got to this story. At the memorial for Richard Nichols (Roots manager who died of leukemia in 2014) Jimmy Fallon was in the lobby while the memorial service was going on, he was high (coke) making alot of noise. She claims The Roots were suckers for not putting him in his place for that.
:laff: what the hell? :laff:

Never followed The Roots like that, though I have loved some of their work over the years, one from 2010, I really liked, (I can't believe that was 10 years ago, this summer) and I mainly know Wright from her stuff with Jay on Unplugged, but the whole doing the Jimmy Fallon show always struck me, I understand to do a season to run some money up, but year after year?

I used to go on the front page but never navigated to the message boards until like 2002/03. I was fully active on The Lawn & SOHH tho

Above the fray.
I also heard the OG Jill version after shortly after the Erykah version and I was like huh myself also nikkas did Eve dirty to shyt they shot the video and told her a different day.
I heard different stories about the video shoot.

From an artistic standpoint, I think it would have confused the viewer to have 3 different female leads in the video: the love interest, Erykah, and Eve.

I don't know if they have a manager, or if quest is the de facto manager of the group. If they don't have a manager, that's part of the cause of the finger pointing and accusations. With a manager, they could always make him the bad cop.

It was a great song. The Roots were like Gangstarr where they would include a relationship song on each album. In both cases, that would be one of the best songs on the album, too.

But he basically ADMITTED to ghostwriting in this old HipHopDX interview!!!

So either he is lying now or was lying then.

Dice Raw Releases First Official Single In 10 Years, "100"

===========
“[The song] is more important to me than any single I ever release because it’s really an incredible thing to look back at a 14-year career and see where I’m at now. There’s never really been another person in Hip Hop like me, know what I mean? I first came out on [The Roots’] ‘The Lesson’ in 1994, [and] didn’t drop my first solo project for another six years, and after that didn’t release a solo project till now…10 years later.”

While Dice has weathered a bumpy road, the artistic triple-threat burried maintained his relevance and his craft through staying tucked away in the recording studios of Philadelphia. “During all that time I was still relevant, because I was in the lab writing music that made it to huge levels of success, and nobody even knew I was involved. Because there was such a gap [between albums], I feel like putting this single out, and following up on it with the full project, The Greatest Rapper Never is a now-or-never situation for me. I’ve got so much versatile

Roots never reached "huge levels of success". They been around 20+ years and got 1 plat album. And Black Thought has zero certifications for any project.

So yeah he might've wrote for somebody but given the wording it definitely wasn't anybody in his camp.

Just pointing that he tripped himself up.
In rushing to refute the allegations, he stuck his chest out talking about what dudes from HIS era don't do and would never do.

His own words from the old Hiphopdx interview contradicts the line he's trying to feed us now.

I like Dice Raw but ehhhhhhhhhhhh. Unless Dice got a bipolar pen game. I'm not saying it's impossible, but why give your best sh!t to Tariq and come off comparingly subpar on the mic on your own sh!t? :patrice:
This would be hella ironic since on his recent joint Fentanyl Thought says, "I ghostwrote for the greats and took the best out..." Why would a ghostwriter have his rhymes ghostwritten? Their styles are just too different. Same with Malik and Thought, that's why they sounded good together, their styles were different but complementary.
