How is a team like the Chiefs not bending all the way over to make this happen? You bout to have to blow it up when Mahomes gets his ARod in 2000 type contract anyway, might as well go all the way in now.

Because Ramsey is going to break the bank too (HOF trajectory) and you need those picks for cheap labor.

I’m pretty sure the reports are an AFC team offered the two firsts they asked for, and they declined because the picks would probably be too low. Who does that sound like? Can’t give much more than that, especially with the Gawd coming up to break bank, Chris Jones possible huge contract, and having to likely make Ramsey highest paid CB.

Only way to offset that is cheap talent, AKA draft picks

I know. That's my point. You aren't gonna be able to keep the team as currently constituted together for much longer anyway. Go all in for this year and maybe next and then let Mahomes do his ARod thing.

Hadn't heard that. Thanks. These nikkas should be on full blown thirst mode IMO. But honestly if you could have Mahomes and Ramsey, it's on the GM and coaching staff to figure the rest out. If push comes to shove though, you can always trade Ramsey and recoup your picks in a couple years.

Agreed, I’ve said that in regards to Mahomes contract alone (no discounts  ), especially since the salary cap is gonna keep going up. I think everybody is throwing feelers out to Jax, to see if they bite.

And to Veach’s credit, he was trying to get Pat Pete last yr aggressively, but the trash ass Cardinals wouldn’t play ball. I think if Mo Claiborne isn’t shaking out by the deadline, SOMETHING will happen. Ward, who can can cover, but can’t find the ball in the air to save his life (we always have one :francis: ), is the only CB under contract after this yr, and I’m sure he’s not about to break the bank on Fuller. Breeland might get a decent contract, but not a big one. All in all, I see the CBs looking completely different relatively soon, one way or another.

Right. In the nfl you gotta strike while the iron hot. fukk 2020 21 22 23. Get your 1 ship now and you build yourself cushion for half a decade at least.
Sell out while you can and rebuild again.

I hear my Birds offered a 1 & 2 but Jax is firm on two firsts...two firsts is too much

Esp considering we are one of the oldest teams in the league...we need to stand firm with a 1 & 2 and maybe a 2022 5th rounder or something

But we need Zestlord

Exactly. In today's NFL there is no such thing as sustained contention outside of Boston. You get what you can get now, especially with a QB of Mahomes caliber still on a rookie deal and worry about the rest later. You get so beholden to picks and the future or finances or building a certain way and you end up like Green Bay...wasting chances with a GOAT caliber player.

I just think that D needs a lot of work even with Jalen. Now a team like the Bears, Ravens or Bills who have an already good D could be crazy with Ramsey.
