I'm not saying that Jews didn't hand him over or that they're not responsible. That's what I'm saying. If Romans ruled the land, they had the choice to kill him or not, regardless of what Jews wanted. They chose to kill him because most probably it was in the Empire's interest too to do so.

The Roman Empire being a political entity it doesn't strike me as strange that one could at the same time have Roman citizenship and be a Jew.

I'm not sure what you mean by "Rome not being Europe yet", continents are continents breh. And of course most european languages didn't exist back then.

And I'm not sure what you mean by "Hitler antisemitism was completely different than actions before", there were pogroms since forever in Europe, ghettos too, antisemitic propaganda, etc. Antisemitism has been in the European fabric for centuries, literraly. Only Euros say the opposite, again in order to act as if Nazis came out of nowhere and to make people "forget" that Europe has been antisemitic since forever.
