I like janelle as a person, and she's gorgeous, and I've tried to like her music, but aside from a couple of songs her music is consistently wack to meincredibibly overrated IMO

Get em!! Everything you said are my same sentiments. I enjoy being on The Coli (so far) but the tastes of some leave a lot to be desired.
With that said, “BabopbyeYa” is my favorite song on The ArchAndroid along with “Say You’ll Go”. They can say what they want to about Janelle, but the people they like aren’t making music that’s seeing The ArchAndroid. Point blank period.

Electric lady was fantastic took you through so many genres of black music while still sounding fresh .
People rag on that album because it wasn't as experimental as arcandriod.
People wasn't even up on Janelle during these days .
Lyrics to sincerely Jane are just insane .
In terms of the sound of the music in her disocography, I would say The Audition is R&B and foreshadows what’s to come with the Android series. Metropolis: The Chase is Pop with those elements carrying over into The ArchAndroid (which includes some R&B influenced songs too) in there. Actually that album is multi-genred with folk and classical elements too. Electric Lady is more R&B/urban with some Pop elements.. and goes back to her roots a little bit with with the The Audition.
“Make Me Feel” is more for the pop/radio crowd and then “D’Jango Jane” is more for the urban crowd. I think both songs serve different purposes. I can see what Jane was doing with releasing the two at the same time.

Honestly, I don’t mind the profanity. Artists use it all the time. As long as the music/melodies are great.

Secondly, music is subjective. You feel that song/artist can't be topped, great. I feel that way about a lot of songs/artists that someone else won't feel the same about.
