I only stan two people Janelle and Teedra moses .
You right I can't understand how people don't like good music yet complain about a lack of it :ehh:.

Let's just leave it at that agree to disagree .
You clearly don't look at my posts, I never complain about lack of good music. I'm all over that r&b thread dropping gems people are overlooking - the people who are actually complaining about no good music. I also find plenty of rappers, DJ's, indie, and electric music artists/songs I love on a weekly basis. So miss me with the strawman blanket statements about coli tastes/complaints when they don't apply to me :ld:

Edit: and be honest, you seem to get real tight over wale and meek too

She's the most talented of our generation and it ain't close .
Just Like the greats she only records with live instruments .

Cornballs don't even know what good music is .

Say you'll go is probably the best love song this generation and folks too stupid to even understand it .

Completely with you here u been a fan like me .

You mostly always feel like how I do when it comes to her and Kendrick .

I absolutely hate cursing in my r&b music .

It's so cheap and I really hope Janelle's album isn't full of it .

She even said in her interview that prince would scold her if he was alive and heard cursing in her music .
I mean what is this music even about . Janelle Monae is out here on an empowerment tip but coming across like she's desperate for them gay community/trap music sales. Didn't work for Frank ocean, didn't work for tyler the creator and it won't work for her because it's not how she established herself in the game..

Folks that played her music around their families won't be on board this album cycle. Janelle handlers and janelle are desperate have sadly gone then wrong route for success.

Doesn't help that outside of her message being weak the songs themselves are just decent, combined with trash lyrics equals ass

You must not have a clue about Frank Ocean’s fan base then. Every since that dude came out the closet, they act as if that man can do no wrong musically in addition to them being very loyal to him no matter what. Frank also sold 273K in the first week with Blonde too (and did over 100K with Channel Orange). So I personally believe his coming out has helped his career a bit.

Janelle’s music has always been about feeling empowered/having confidence and loving yourself. That message has not changed (particularly with D’Jango Jane and it’s lyricism). The difference now is that she’s seems more bold and unapologetic about it. And that’s the energy that I think we’ll get with Dirty Computer. It’s one of the reasons why I’m very excited for this album.

She embodies what black music is about reguardless of how you feel about her personally .

I'm strictly talking about music only .

She's no longer a role model. She's acting like a refined lezbian cardi b. I think it's just pathetic for her to play that dignified role and then when it doesn't work drop the act of metaphors and what not and cater to a lower denominator.

Ol but nah nah that wasn't a janelle Monae album, it was Alice..... :camby:

It's not her responsibility to be a role model. It's no artists responsibility to be a role model tbh. That's what y'all need to realize. These artists don't owe us a damn thing. We are just here to enjoy (or not to enjoy) the music. Simple as that.

In your mind not mine.

She owes her fans who were riding with her more then this garbage. Basically abandoning her audience for fame.

She was giving young girls anlane to express themselves without disrespecting themselves and the face if black people globally but now? She's just like every other female entertainer when times get tougjh

She's done young girls a diservice.

The music is great imo. You just can't take seeing another side of Janelle that you aren't used to. Apart of being a great artist is being able to take risks and try different things while being true to who they are, which I believe she's doing. There is nothing about these new songs that are screaming for fame. She's just being herself. Once again, she doesn't owe anyone anything. It's her responsibility to make the music that makes HER happy first and foremost. And if you or anyone else don't like it, then that is on y'all. I can respect what Janelle is doing and once again I'm very excited for what's to come.

That's how you feel , but is that how Janelle feel :francis:

She's in the game to be famous otherwise she'd be making music in her basement. She wants to be seen and heard by millions.

She is black therefore by default she has no choice but to be a role model since our young people have so few on the public stage.

She don't owe little girls like this who look up to her shyt though from your perspective.

Did Janelle tell this girl she isn't a role model.

I guess she did when she told a child to be your own role model :mjlol:

Janelle has allowed herself to become a pawn against young black girls. If she's willing to stoop this low for fame it sends a bad message to young black girls like the one in queen latifah.

I hear what you’re saying, but at the end of the day she is still a grown woman who can do whatever she wants to. Once again she owes nothing to anyone but herself.

And yeah, people should be their own role model and strive to be better versions of themselves. Not of someone else. I love music very much, and I have specific artists that I am a fan of, but I don't look up to them for inspiration nor would I consider myself a “stan” (after years I've come to the realization of how terrible that term is). I just respect their talent and enjoy their music. That is all.

And honestly the only person that I strive to be like other than myself is God.

Your musically opinion is awful .

Someone making this song can't be over rated .

Y'all don't know what good music is .

If prince gave her a feature who the hell are y'all :heh:.

That dude don't like nobody and he def not giving someone a feature .

Absolutely fantastic your fav could never :wow:.

I always wanted her to sing a classic James bond theme song. This song shows she has that talent.

She doesn't have to make it wasting talent singing trash like these new sngles
