Well can you tell me why you like the new Janelle music and what makes it good? Again objectively. I'm not gonna argue but I would like to hear your perspective.
I’m biased because I like the album? Once again, I told you that Janelle was not my absolute favorite artist and that I don’t “stan” anyone. I support Janelle. There’s a difference. I feel like even if I broke down Dirty Computer to you and engaged in an in-depth conversation about the album and why I like it, all you would do is say I’m being “biased” because that’s your definition of people who enjoy something you don’t like (well I feel like you are going to say that to me in particular regardless). It would just be a waste of time.First of all I was just joking with the biased comment and kidding but you're a Janelle stan and that's okay cause was once a big fan myself.
As for him he may genuinely like the music and be in the minority or he may be biased like you are
They are biased and I don't hold much credibility to music reviews period to be honest with the exception of dead end hiphop. When you look at the way music critics evaluate music many times they are out of touch with the actual culture of the music they critique and other times they are paid off. Some times you look at the ratings then look at what they rated other albums and all you can do is shake your head at how horrible and how meaningless they are.

Tbh I feel like she watered down her lyrics. I'm okay with her not doing another Archandroid because a lot goes into a record like that musically and it's a bytch to do when it may not be appreciated in the current microwave culture. However the music itself with the exception of the I Like track was not her best imo.

Hate them or love them, critics really don’t lie in regards to rating music (I don’t agree with every rating, but for the most part they are valid). A lot of the rap albums praised on here even have critical acclaim. If this album really sucked, it would not continuously see 9/10 ratings (or see an average of 80+ on metactiric neither..not saying that it will or won’t, but there is a good chance that it will see that given Janelle’s consistency). I’m actually really interested this time in what they’re going to say about the album since I know the Coli is the only forum that will collectively hate it.

Critics are out of touch and off base with the pulse off the culture rendering them irrelevant in my eyes. You can have your opinion on them but they don't tell me what's good or not, my ears do.
In fact the critic even calling this album "her strongest album yet" let's me know he or she doesn't know what they're talking about. I can not take them serious.
I always respected her sense of exploration as an artist and her twisting different genres together is what I like about her music. I was never one to put her in a box and never have though I disagree that she is growing as an artist. If you ask me she is becoming a watered down artist. I mean the "Make Me Feel" track is a Prince-knock off. The Django Jane track was a Jidenna ghostwritten track and Pynk was nothing special aside from the hot scenes in the video and truth be told I feel she made these songs to try and garner commercial success but this is not her. She's better then this and might be selling out.
What! Cardi's flow on songs like Be Careful sound stiff and like she is reading off paper. I love Cardi B as a person, she an amazing person and I laugh at her when I see her in interviews, commercials and etc. She's also hot, but her music, her music is mediocre at best. Now I get it, you're biased but let's not go off topic here
