Only liked about three or four songs on here but I felt the same about her other albums.

Always thought her image/aesthetic was leagues ahead of her music.:yeshrug:
This is how I feel with her. The music doesn't match everything she else around her. I'm almost always underwhelmed.

She needs to free Roman GianArthur tho, he's the truth

I'm defensive because if I believe in something and I'm passionate, I will defend it until the end. And if I know that it's not being trashed on other forums aside from The Coli, then it makes things even worse. But knowing that I am in The Booth, a subform centered around R&B and Hip Hop, I can't be disappointed in people not liking it.
This is unfair, we (The Booth) overwhelmingly loved Solange's recent album, and she was on no one's radar prior. You're a stan which is fine but you might blindsided on this one

Solange's album was R&B/Neo-Soul. Which proves my point in how the coli doesn't care too much about music outside that genre and rap.

And speaking of which, I asked two questions in previous posts that no one can seem to answer. But honestly, I feel like I have a good vibe about things and I'm beginning not to care as much.

I don't think the reviewer actually is the one who rates the album. I believe all of pitchfork's staff comes together and they collectively reach that score. Once again, they will probably have it in their year-end list. They did the same thing to St. Vincent's last album (if you know of her). It was acclaimed yet they gave it a 7.7 but included it in their year-end list above albums that they rated higher. lol. Their system is interesting.

I see, didn't know they did it like that but I told you reviews were bullshyt lol. You sound like an old head the way you look into reviews and critics. Pitchfork are a weirdo hipster brand, they don't know anything about the culture.

Also yeah I know about St Vincent, I got into her music for a bit cause Kid Cudi sampled her on maniac and I think she has an interesting voice.

20+ reviews is more than enough to say it's superior to Electric Lady. :sas1: Haha. Nah, but all 3 albums are great, I have nothing bad really to say about any of them.
LOL now they are great when you low key hate on Electric Lady but if you say so. I mean your entitled to your opinion but I feel Dirty Computer is the weakest one of the three and not great but solid. I know your issue with Electric Lady was it was too long so we just gonna have to agree to disagree. Dirty Computer suffered cause she tried to go to commercial I feel and that is it's Achilles heel imo.

I'm better now. Thanks. lol! I got you, I wonder what we're going to discuss next... :jbhmm::jbhmm:

I got an ideal :jbhmm: I'll bring it up soon lol..

Those other rappers you mentioned don't even even compare to Kendrick. I just laugh at people who constantly like to discredit him. lol! I hope he continues making the haters mad. :russ::russ:
Facts! :mjlol: People hate on him for no reason like he doesn't deserve the spot he is in. He makes great music and it's undeniable but in the age we are in some people hate just to hate. The success speaks for itself and he even throws darts at Drake every now and again and even Drake wants no issues.

The point I’m trying to make is that, if this album was as terrible as the comments/posts in this thread, then the album wouldn’t be as acclaimed as it is nor would people outside of this forum enjoy it. I don’t base my opinions off of critics neither and I liked the album before the reviews came in.. but I feel like it’s necessary to bring them up since most of everyone else on here (aside from a select few) are not feeling this album. In the ring of negative reception on the Coli, I’ll be the one to bring in positive reception. If that includes posting about reviews and what people are saying outside of this forum then so be it.

I keep saying that I don't hate Electric Lady and that it is also one of the best albums released this decade along with the other 2. I dunno how many times I gotta stress that. I still think EL is the weakest link of the three. We will just have to agree to disagree. lol!

This should be fun.. I'm looking forward to it.

I feel like if you are at the top of your game, then hate is going to come with it. Kendrick will have plenty of haters as long as he's on top, which I don't see him falling off anytime soon. :russ:

For sure, they are completely different albums and sounds. IMO, these songs are better than anything on Janelle's album:

Bleh, she does nothing for me. And no it's not better than Janelle's album. Not even close.

I wouldn't call Make me feel, I Like that & Django Jane pop but it's cool, I get it
Make Me Feel is 80s pop. I Like That and Don't Judge Me are R&B (the former has Pop elements to it, while the latter is a bit folk inspired too). Django Jane is Rap of course.. but the overall vibe is Pop. Definitely more Pop than her previous albums.

Once again that is your opinion, personally I think Kali Uchas album shyts all over this. But what does it matter, it's all opinions.

That's a fact, people are going to want to see him fall but they will have to wait forever before that happens. He is way too talented and too versatile to the point where the haters will be listening just like everyone else is.
