We saying a lot of weird shyt in this thread. To act like Jay's music doesn't have more appeal than Nas' is disingenuous. And to act like Nas' King's Disease and Magic series album were wack and irrelevant is also disingenuous. They both are dope in different ways. Jay is the top of the food chain, especially when we're talking mainstream. Nas doesn't have as much mainstream appeal but he's still a monster artist.

When people talk longevity, that crown unquestionably goes to LL Cool J.

Jay post BP3 has aged incredibly bad....minus a the few guest verses he's done for people.

thats the point…
ll aint been a factor for decades

all in all longevity being a critique for artist is a weak argument

There’s a surefire indisputable way to judge whether an artist is still “musically relevant” if they’re still touring.
How is their tour being advertised and what does their set list look like.
Tour named after their most recent album and heavy on recent songs? Still relevant.
Tour named nostalgically and playing almost exclusively greatest hits with a couple new songs blended in that kill the energy? Legacy act.

How is putting out albums that make zero waves or impact on the culture longevity?

The at last Jay interview was a bigger deal than Nas last 10 albums

Lol.

Y'all equate fake impact with making waves. Every Jay-Z album release is tied to a gimmick because he's afraid to put up bad numbers. You guys are more concerned with the perception of greatness than actual greatness. Which is why all Jay-Z raps about is greatness, instead of making great music.

Enjoy them 5k concert tickets to watch him stand around and maybe bring out Beyonce. Lemmings.

He had 2 albums with those tricks you speak off

Magna Carta he gave away 1 million but still sold 500k first week

444 was exclusively on tidal for a week and he gave away 1 million. Released it to all platforms a week later with no Spotify (the biggest platform) and still sold 262k

If he cared about numbers that shyt would been on all platforms day one

I was thinking of this at the jay elec concert:

In 6,7 fire albums in the last few years, Nas doesn’t have a verse that can fukk with Jay on ghost of Soulja Slim :scusthov: :damn:

Nas is Nas, jay is jay. Volume isn’t changing that

Dont do this bruh....dont make an accurate, logical, fact based post.

You gotta pick a side and downplay one however you can....as a grown man....in 2026.
