U2 can sell out a show in Bucharest. Jay ain't doing that. Let's try to have some nuance here.

Don't disagree with you

My point was the absence of recent hits isn't really a determining factor in whether an act can sell out a show or not

He’s right. Jay never been able to be that big in the public consciousness on his own to be able to do that. Now if he did some type of ”and all my friends” with Justin Timberlake/Alicia Keys/Eminem/Rihanna/Kanye (pre MAGA)/Coldplay/Linkin Park/Beyonce combo type deal I think you’d see that level of interest. But at that point that’s not even his show no more.

But Jay Z as Jay Z has done a better job telling you he was that big than actually being that big. Last time people really messed with him on a pop scale (which is true stadium status) was Empire State of Mind…one song. Everything else is basically the media telling you he invested in something and made some money off it or him and his wife keep being rich.

Have you been to a Hov concert in the last decade. If his crowd was just old nikkas he wouldn't have done multiple arena tours. It's full of white people, kids, hoes, black people, etc.

Drake can sell out SoFi too btw. So could Kanye (pre-Nazi/insanity shyt lol).

I went to the On the Run Tour. And Beyoncé was the main attraction. Jay ain’t selling out a stadium solo in 2023 unless it’s in NYC

No rapper on their own has done a full stadium tour

Eminem has done stadium shows and Jay did it with Beyoncé

Jay z isn't selling out stadiums by himself and that isn't a controversial statement. It was silly of Toure to even suggest it.

went to the legends of the summer tour at yankee stadium (jay & timberlake) and i can easily tell you that the crowd was there for jay mostly and not no justin timberlake :mjlol:. timberlake never did a stadium tour before but these clowns on here will tell you that hes the one who jay had to latch on to in order to do his stadium tour.

some of the posters in here are correct that pretty much no rapper can sell out a stadium tour by themselves though. but selling out certain cities? 100% and jay is definitely one of them.

That's in the Tri-State area.
Jay z can still sell out arena's which is a huge accomplishment 30 years into his career.
He can't sell out stadiums and it would be a waste of resources for him to even try. There are very few people in the peak of their careers who are able to sell out stadiums around the country.

with the right hype & album, i definitely think even at this age that jay could sell out a stadium using a "retirement/last run" type of angle. similar to what 50 is currently doing with his tour (albeit way smaller than a stadium tour).

In the U.S. this 50 Cent Tour are at arena's which are huge, but not stadiums.
Even if you create a buzz around a Jay z tour it would be done at arena's, with multiple dates in areas with large demand.
