I'm a youngin so I'm into 2000's rap more but I like Prodigy's shyt like Keep it Thoro.
I know. You're like 16 right? Can't even get mad, you got a tough job trying to catch up on decades of this shyt.
So you don't like Infamous and Hell On Earth at all? Or you haven't heard them?

Eminem is trash but that dont mean he isn't a gOAT
That's exactly what it means :russ:
11- Redman
12- Busta Rhymes
13- Wayne
14- Prodigy
So you got P at 14? Why the :mjlol:when Snoop and Em were like 9 and 10 for you?
:mjlol::mjlol:
This clown put snoop and em in his top ten rappers it's over ya opinion on rap is irrelevant
:whoa:He young breh. Give him a pass.
by seeing the success jay had post-ether then making a thread like this :heh:
Most Nas stans don't care about "success". They care about the music.
need to act like your hip hop knowledge is above everyone which is how must you Wu stans act
Wu Stans don't act like that.
I think american gangster is better than the black album:yeshrug:

Blueprint 3 wasn't a classic but its a 8/10 album.
RD and IWW are better to me.:yeshrug:

Ironman had more :whoo: moments
I can respect that. There was a lot of heat I. 96.

sounds like a bunch of crying and downplaying of jay accomplishments as to why hes overrated from one of your fellow nas stans to me

maybe he wishes nas should've been the one in that position :sas2:

I agree.....Jay's the Scrooge McDuck of rap.

I think he's very clever with the wordplay, but shyt like that started getting old by my sophomore year in hs.

"Niccaz don't get the picture till the guns are drawn"----Shyt used to have me

giphy.gif

Now it gets a chuckle and a:russell:2 seconds later.

His music lacks heaviness. It's very light to me.

But maybe that's because I have a very melancholy personality type.likened to the comic world, I'm DC.

Jay is more Marvel.... colorful, flashy.

He's casual...typical.Dime a dozen "hustler" mentality.

But a genius marketer. That dude campaigned to turn RD into a classic, and it worked.

I mean an inarguable classic.....RD had a lil buzz when it dropped, but Jay wasn't setting any trends in the game with that shyt.

Up until '04, it was a 'lil cult following of folks' that may have thought it was a classic, but it wasn't a classic in the collective/mass conscious.

But then Jay went to work on these niccaz brains. He's a sly dude.I'll give him that

I don't cosign OP on his OP at all. :yeshrug:
I just don't think any stuff outside of the music matters to Nas stans when it comes to comparing the two. :yeshrug:

I wouldn't say he's the most overrated, but he's up there. he has his lines and moments like all great rappers do, but the way people talk about him like he's a god makes me laugh.

I had Jay up in my top five at one point but he stuck around too long and released too much trash and dropped to top 10 for me and I've been listening since RD ....Then once a rappers personal life is talked about than the music its over for me
