It's right there on the back of the first 2 albums, they were Def Jam/Columbia albums and not Jay's name anywhere. They even said when the signing was made, the first 2 joints were a Def Jam/Columbia collabos and his last 2 would be solely Def Jam. Jay was gone by end of 07 and never really even got a chance to be boss. So I get people want to try and make it an L for Nas but even factually its not even correct (add to the fact Jay wasnt actually a president who signed things off)

Yea just like Drake "partnered" with Apple. You think Tim Cook isn't his boss?

Ya'll are taking these terms too serious like Christians take every verse in the Bible literally. Jay was the President and Nas was a recording artist. Nothing wrong with that not is it an L. Nas stans are turning this into an L by pretending they don't understand corporate hierarchy.

:dahell: No. A partnership is a partnership, the fukk.
Baby's Drake's only boss

from 50 to nore everyone sonned nas and it was going round and well known it was a 10 million album deal back then that was what nas fans used to stop from crying.

since then its been an even bigger L, cam stopped him from signing under irv and ja :russ:

Tell us more about how Jay. Said Nas not to mention ether anymore fakkit.

but that would still be an L for nas.

jay quadrabled in sef-worth legacy and legendary status while nas 2 claims to fame are illmatic and ether (which he can no longer talk about)

which would not only make jay his former boss but now he is also giving him rules like his father :russ:

it shouldnt have ever been smartenupnas, it should have been smartenupnasstans :russ:

It's funny because they're always trying the reverse psychology "u mad? Ether still burning" shyt when they're clearly the ones mad still burning. Cats making threads 10 years later trying to clear old should be forgotten shyt up. "Um um Jay really wasn't Nas boss tho" Who the fukk cares? That takeover still burning:mjlol:

Nas probably the greatest but it was an L it was an even bigger L back then because they where still far from cool and even many rappers said he took an L and where disapointed with him not only because he was under Jay (which he was) but it was also on Def Jam a company he proudly proclaimed he hated. :yeshrug:

They already performed together before Nas signed with Def Jam, they were cool at that point, or at least put on the front the cameras. I was a huge Jay fan, and I didn't consider it an L for Nas at the time. I looked at it as a grown man business decision.
