They already performed together before Nas signed with Def Jam, they were cool at that point, or at least put on the front the cameras. I was a huge Jay fan, and I didn't consider it an L for Nas at the time. I looked at it as a grown man business decision.

Ok, you dont consider it as an L for nas. thats good, business decision cool prostitutes make business decisions all the time you probably dont consider that an L but thats a good thing.

what happened is Nas was already a whipping boy but when he made the def jam switch where Jay was the face and president of def jam for like 10 million he became a novelty MC. where people would rather to listen to a man like Jay instead of a boy like Nas. especially since hiphop is about giving game and being a man.

Nas aint really been looked as cool ever since, you look at the stats and just glance at the times from then till now. its a shame his not even on def jam anymore. def jam where he said he 'hated and they where trying to destroy his career' :russ:

Nas was a great rapper, but thats about the extent of praise this dude gets which is getting less and less. and thats cool so:yeshrug:

You're comparing sucking dikk for money to a $3 million dollar joint deal Nas signed with Def Jam and Sony and that $3 mill didn't include his album budgets. Wow, just wow. Nas wasn't a whipping boy ever. I'm in the minority of people who think Jay won the beef, and Nas benefitted from being the underdog, but never in his career was he seen as a whipping boy except from delusional Jay stans who couldn't accept that both could be and were dope.

So at one point maybe he believed Def Jam was trying to ruin his career, like at the point when Def Jam's biggest artist in Jay was beefing with him and he was trying to ruin Jay's career, but then they squashed the shyt like grown men and a few months later Nas made a good business decision. Grown men don't let emotion cloud their mind when it comes to business. I can only assume that no other label was offering what Def Jam did, so he would've been a "boy" to turn down that deal cause of some overhyped largely manufactured rap "beef".

didnt read all of it but you need to wise up and know the bottom line is, Jay-Z is a scum bag.

Jay is a scum bag thats the bottom line, on top of all that extra shyt nas pretends to proclaim he somehow slid under (no homo) a scum bag.

when B first got with Jay, he cost her millions from endorsements thats how much of a scumbag "men/men in control" see Jay-z.

truth is truth, Nas fukked up and took an irreplaceable L. :russ:

I still can't believe Nas signed that contract. :snoop: :mjcry::mindblown:
Business aside, Jay told the world that he smashed his bm and left condoms on the baby seat. Literally one of the most disrespectful things I've ever heard on wax. :scust: And then Nas turns around and shows up to Jay's show and signs to Def Jam. :wtf: Even if Jay wasn't literally his boss you DO NOT sign that deal just from an integrity and perception standpoint. Y'all can throw out that huge contract if you want to but that's an L for Nas. No amount of money could make me sweep that under the rug and act like everything is cool.

:mjpls: @ NAS saying he had no bosses over at DEF JAM

negro please :stopitslime:

Doug Morris the CEO of UNIVERSAL which was the parent company of DEF JAM made NAS fall da fukk when he TRIED to name his album "N1GGA"

Wikpedia:

After claiming that hip hop had died in his previous album, Nas raps on "Hero" about stepping up and bring it back. The third verse of the song addresses the controversy surrounding the album, originally titled ******:

It's Universal apartheid, I'm hogtied, the corporate side Blocking y'all from goin' to stores and buyin' it

First L.A. and Doug Morris was riding with it

But Newsweek article startled bigwigs; they said, "Nas, why is you tryin' it?"

The reference to Doug Morris, then the chairman and CEO of the Universal Music Group, is preserved in the version of "Hero" that appeared on The ****** Tape, a mixtape released in the run-up to the untitled album's release. In the album version of "Hero," the lyric Doug Morris is censored. :lolbron:

Irony at it's finest.

What does Jay being a scum bag have to do with Nas taking an L by signing a joint deal with Def Jam/Sony worth $3 mill up front plus his album budgets and maintaining an ownership stake in his own imprint? I'd love to be in a position that a $3 million deal could be considered an L. But I need to wise up right?

How do you know he cost Beyonce money? And if that's true, once again, how is that relevant to Nas' decision? And if it was true believe she would've left immediately, their relationship is as much, if not more of a business deal opposed to a real marriage.

What if I said I know for a fact Jay still looks out for every member of State Prop that didn't turn foul on him (basically just Chris and Free)? That's not up for debate either, I know that, and he throws them all business opportunities here and there to make sure they ain't starving.

Why does Jay still take care of everyone who stayed loyal to him if he's a scum bag? Biggs came home to a position at Roc Nation. Bleek's set for life. Ty Ty's set for life. Dame bit the hand that fed him and was just a straight fukking moron with his money or he'd be set for life. If he went back to Jay on some humble shyt I'd bet he could find himself back in his circle, but Dame's too arrogant and I can't blame him he's a grown man and can handle his business as he sees fit, same way Nas can.

Does Jay have scum bag tendencies? It certainly appears so, but that's business. Anyone who puts business first does some scum bag shyt, but it's really more so cut throat business not necessarily being a scum bag. The only people who can't tell the difference between the two are children or broke and will remain one or both until they realize the difference.

That's literally the ONLY part that is unforgivable. fukking his baby mom is disrespectful, but they weren't friends at that point, Nas' anger has to be directed at her for that, but claiming the condoms on the baby seat, whether it happened or not doesn't even matter just the fact he said it is the only thing that makes me reconsider my position that Nas didn't take an L for signing that contract. For real I'd need Jay to issue a public apology (which I'm pretty sure he did on Hot 97, right?) and/or inflict some physical harm to him for that shyt.

But Nas probably didn't deal with Jay at all in his time at Def Jam, from the day the contract was signed until the day his last album with them was completed, which was way after Jay left the position anyway.
