I'm a die hard Nas fan, but Camel got him slightly on this song. Only by the slightest of margins though. By the sound of Jay-Z during the intro, you could tell he spent a lot of time and effort on his verse because he was so happy to finally be on a song with his rap hero.
He admitted he was about to start tap dancing in the studio cause he was in the same booth as the GOAT. Jay was probably doing cartwheels and shyt while Nas was just ehh, this is just another song from a storied career.
So Nas still won.

To me it just seemed like Jay was talking about someone else on the record and it was like he had that verse for like Dame or a former partner, seemed kinda different fitting on that track. Same token though people can say that about Nas verse on Success

"the black militant" of the song whiich is where Nas comes in in which they were once on the same side but according to Jay's verse jealousy and envy has caused him want to "take over the govt" and money has caused Jay to become obsessed with power
