How old are you breh? Everyone I know that was 12 like me when the BP dropped has it high as hell. That shyt sounded like opera from the gods to me as a kid.
BP is when jay became too commercial for me... he was washed up by this point, lyrically, subject matter, etc...

Didnt like the album at all with a few exceptions.... From BP to MC with BA and AG bein exceptions jay was trash to me, he tried to bring his audience n lsteners to his new lifestyle of wealth n datin beyonce but the thing is this didnt resonate well with the majority of the people who live in the struggle n havent experienced his success

I actually appreciate more his last album, cuz now he more mature n I considered it grown man rap

Im 32 by the way

Jay the only rapper ever to get a pass on an album with a lot of filler that others would get killed for. Speaking on volume 1 and BP3 specifically. Yes volume 1 has some all time great Jay tracks but it has some of the worst Jay tracks in his discography. I think he placed it properly in his rankings.
These “bad” tracks on Vol. 1 aren’t even that bad.

I don’t see how City is Mine isn’t dope.

The next tracks are Sunshine and I Know What Girls Like. These tracks are different but I don’t think they’re that trash to knock the album that much.

Literally the rest of the album is classic Jigga.

RD is the most forced classic debut I’ve ever seen. That shyt was alright but didn’t have the same impact as his peers that he wants everyone to believe. His only classics are BP and BA. Everything else is mediocre to trash. Most overrated artist ever
Nah. Classics are made in time not upon drop that’s the definition of classic and RD epitomizes a slow burning classic. It also made more impact than given credit for, commercially as an independent release and critically as far as its Source review and all that.

RD is classic when rappers in 2020 are making albums named Reasonable Drought and Burden of Proof.

One Jay album that I’ve grown to like more after the years passed by is Life and Times Of Shawn Carter. Didn’t like it much initially but there’s some gems on there

No it’s not. It’s only gotten that classic label because Jay has literally forced everyone to accept that. That shyt is not on the same plane as 36, Illmatic, RTD, OB4CL, etc. shyt I’d put Ironman and It’s dark over it.

It has stood the test of quality over time and that’s the epitome of classic.

This is yet another album inspired by Reasonable Doubt...
