These “bad” tracks on Vol. 1 aren’t even bad.

I don’t see how City is Mine isn’t dope.

The next tracks are Sunshine and I Know What Girls Like. These tracks are different but I don’t think they’re that trash to knock the album that much.

Literally the rest of the album is classic Jigga.

Face Off, who you wit 2, rap game/crack game are all weak to me. I know what girls like is a top 5 WOAT Jay track.

Vol.2>Vol.1>Vol.3

My fiancé a Jay fan loves Vol1 over the rest of the volumes

This hpw you know Hov the GOAT, his Anti's acknowledge it every time a thread about him comes up lmao...

Just like LeBron...

You got dudes in here saying he "maybe" has one classic, shyt is unbelievable. His quality of work is the most prolific in the history of the genre. The following are classics, in sequential order, and shouldn't even be disputed:

Reasonable Doubt, In My Lifetime Vol 1, Hard Knock Life, The Blueprint, The Black Album, American Gangster, Watch The Throne, 4:44

If you take out Watch The Throne because it wasn't a solo, this is still 7 classics. If you have to debate any, the two would be Vol 1 and American Gangster, which still pass the test as classic albums, but that would still be 5 classics. At minimum, Hov has 5 classics. MINIMUM...

Ranking his classics is tough, because they all are excellent and speak to a specific mind Hov was in at the time...

I'd rank them like this:

1-2 (either order): The Blueprint, Reasonable Doubt

3-4 (either order): 444, Watch The Throne

5-7 (any order): Vol 1, American Gangster, Hard Knock Life
8 The Black Album

Dude is clearly and obviously the GOAT and the hoops nikkas jump thru to diminish the work he's put on the board is laughable...

I always thought it was a corny concept, he was still fully in his crybaby mode after losing the battle. "We'll see what happens if I no longer exist :mjcry:".

It's aged the worst out of all his albums imo.

The hype around that album >>>>> the album itself. I listened to that album and was thoroughly underwhelmed back then, and felt the same after re-visiting it at certain points.

Jay been trying real hard lately to rewrite history with that trash magna carter. He going around calling it his top 5

1. Reasonable Doubt 5/5
2. The Blueprint 5/5
3. Volume 1- 4.5/5
4. American Gangster 4.5/5
5. The Black Album 4.5/5

6. 4:44 4/5
7. The dynasty 4/5
8. Vol 2 3.75/5
9. Vol 3 3.5/5
10. BP 2 3/5
11. BP 3 3/5
12. Kingdom Come 3/5
13. Magna Carta 2/5

Vol 1 is very underrated, because of 2 trash songs, it gets hated on. Realistically it probably has atleast 5 songs that are probably his top 10

12. Kingdom Come (First game back, don’t shoot me)

This is old, but, :deadrose: nikka acting like he dropped his last album ten years before.

The Black Album came out in 2003 and this came out in 2006 and Jay prolly had more guest verses than ever between that time
