very underrated album. Not meh to me at all. Near classic. Don't really understand the hate it gets...I just assume it's from Nas stans. Album had great singles (Give It 2 Me, Change The Game), bangers (Parking Lot Pimpin, Squeeze 1st, Streets Is Talkin), deep joints (Soon You'll Understand, Where have you Been, This Cant Be Life) and bona-fide classic records (Intro, U Me Him Her, 1900 Hustler)

Really liked the cover at the time it looked different to me

Album is a bit of a mixed bag but some of the ROC's greatest performances are to be found here and Jay on the intro is possibly at its most impressive form of emceeing, maybe slicker on RD but Jordan rap here

More good than bad. Ran it back the other day and was surprised how much I liked it, give. It's regularly slandered and I hadn't listened in a while.

This was a fun hustling, get money album. Also production wise, this was somewhat the foundation for the Blueprint.
Yep. This always was underrated. One of my favorite Jay albums to be honest. First time that he used Neptunes, Kanye, Bink, and Just Blaze. It's when Jay started a lot of his Philly rapper/Young Chris type delivery. Effortless swagger. Some of his most personal tracks and best shyt talking songs. Great chemistry with Beanie. There's a couple of really bad standouts tracks, but every Jay album has a couple of those.

Didn't appreciate dynasty until 4 years after it came out.

Black Album I didn't appreciate until a few months after release and kept the CD in rotation for a couple years... But it seemed like elevator music initially, lol.

Blueprint I loved off the bat. Vol 3 I liked off the bat...but I really enjoyed it like 6-7 years after it came out.
