I'm sorry, but to get giddy over 4th per season game performance makes me seriously question how much you know about football
It's not personal, but I can't help but thunk that
Look.... if its not personal then just temper how you address me. Because if its indeed an issue of beef..... then fukk football, wrestling, coli, etc.... that can be handled in other "decisive" ways and scenarios.
As far as the initial discussion..... I think you took a lot of shyt out of context. I wasnt giddy like "oh he's the best QB on the squad, Ponder can lead us to a SB, blah blah."
Was he playing against 3rd and 4th stringers on the final game of preseason? Yes and he looked pretty good for someone that only been on the team a week or so comparison to Driskell (who's been there since day one) so if anything I was more happy that he looked more "superior" to that level of talent vs looking like a guy who is struggling against that level or fits right in ala Driskel.
Him playing that well lets me know "well hey he's better that that and possibly can play well against better guys"

I'm still not sold on Gabbert.... and it has NOTHING to do with Kaep.
My thing is this....... that Chicago game last year that we BARELY WON with Cutler basically giving that game to us. And that embarrassing Browns game last year told me what I needed to know about Gabbert and really proved to me that Kaep ALONE wasnt the issue on the team when the season ended and I could assess things.
Gabbert came in on the SOFT END of our schedule last year facing garbage to weak teams like Falcons, Bears, Lions, Rams, and Browns.
Cards and Bengals were the only hands down tough teams, Seahawks was a "meh" team.
I was at that time expecting (even with that squad) if indeed it was a KAEP problem, for us to go atleast 5-3..... possibly 6-2 taking out maybe the Seahawks or Bengals (thought we could be that upset team against Bengals). If he wouldve done that and done it convincingly I'd be more on board. But instead he ended going 3-5 with 2 of the wins we won by luck and didnt really show me anything thats proves to me his best was better than Kaeps best. We already know what Kaeps best is.... deep trips to the playoffs and a SB. Hell, I didnt even think he looked better than Alex Smith at his best.
Every consistent starter of the last 5 or more years has had good years and bad years.... just doesnt make sense. Matter fact its just frustrating to see other franchises can have QB's who have subpar or average years and no one jumps to want to want to push them out as quickly. Eli fukking Manning had a 7-9 year where he only completed 57% of his passes, had 18 TDs and 27 INTs, and QBR of 69 and it wasnt like "oh he's regressed, he's garbage, get rid of him."
And dont let me get started on Luck.
I just feel like you shouldnt easily give up on guys that either won you SBs, taking you to SBs, or give you deep playoff runs. Just do whatever regarding the team to make them and the team better but let them cook.
