Seattle was one of the first defenses to "expose" Chip when he was on the Eagles, will be interesting if they can predict every playcall we do next week (wouldn't be the first time ).

I am just trying to understand one thing: why is Kaepernick not playing? Is Gabbert THAT much better right now? I don't get this. Kaepernick is the franchise player, ok last season was horrific - but the guy running the team AND the coach both had no clue what on earth they were doing. Are they 100% set on going with Gabbert.. are they trying this out and Kaepernick will play again or is this it?

Kaep had one hideous game last season and the rest were solid to average behind a dumpster fire oline

I think Gabbert gets one more week and that's it, if he doesn't have a drastic improvement in driving this offense he goes to t he bench

Too inconsistent, too many missed plays. That could have been a closer game

Also play calling needs to change, Chip wants this to be a running powerhouse but we need to pass more. When we passed down field.guys were open, and we are doing well in pass protectlon

We just gave up 100 yards rushing to Frosty Whitaker(6.3 YPC) who isn't even the starter; We just gave up 176 total rushing yards to the panthers at 4.8 YPC. I'm not putting anything past this defense 2 weeks into the season. We'll see what they look like on Sunday.

I don't think so. If he is ass regardless of a win or loss he is still going to be on the hot seat IMO. I just think the leash will be long. Think Gabbert will play his usual self. Competent though to not get benched. If our D can hold Seattle's offense to say 10-15 points, we have a good chance of winning. Their O is putrid and Russ can't run around which is where he killed us.
