what is chip winning ? hell, we havent won anything even with harbaugh

andy is as excellent of an offensive play designer who plays to his teams strengths, as there are in the league imo

and probably the last true remaining west coast offense that still functions well

his problems are choice of plays (timing) and bad clock management. if they can upgrade a weapon and maybe the qb without losing the turnover-free aspect, theyre set for a while in KC. wont ever be super prolific, but its an offense that knows what its doing. yeah they need a D to go deep in offs, but who doesn't ?

anyway my point was that you can have a functional offense while not launching deep bombs at all

well offense looked way better last year with chryst and gabbert with same weapons minus hyde and an old boldin. we are missing q no doubt, but I dont know...again, I just hope this changes vs shytty defenses and possibly when kaep is back. but Im not exactly encouraged by what is called in terms of plays. we dont have talent or execution, so we need some unpredictability on playcalls. they are as plain as vanilla tho and get re-used too much. shyt is too simple and too predictable. cant afford that when we have shytty execution and little talent.

Gabbert sucks this year, he was much better than this last season

Also, this offense was better with Shaun Draughn

Were scoring more points tho, but that is mostly because of forced turnovers

we're scoring more points in garbage time mostly. it will prolly even up soon.

funny shyt is, I think chips game would be more useful last year when oline was swiss cheese and you had to make one quick read and dump it off
this year qb has time and when hes not being garbage (admittedly hes been very garbage), hes trying to hit on that first/second read quickly because of timing instead of letting the play develop a bit more

Playcalling has nothing to do with a DB illegally holding and grabbing a guy..... especially after the 5 yard margin. It dont matter what play you call, DB's aint supposed to manhandled the WR.

Unless you saying 4th and Goal on we should put faith in Gore and tried to run it against the fukking Ravens defense?

Teams on the schedule started to prepare for gabbert during the off season. He basically didn't play for a couple of years so teams didn't know to play him. Notice the lack of throws to te's and rbs? It's no mistake teams are taking those guys away and playing man outside and daring him to throw outside where he is the most inaccurate.

you can have a solid offense without throwing downfield; you just need good play design.

case in point- andy reid. now, alex smith is a better version of gabbert, but we all know he isnt airing it out like a madman. they also have more weapons, but still...there are literally dozens of short slants/screens/plays to RB in reids playbook. defenses know they wont be challenged deep much. and yet they still give up points.

concepts and plays dont have to be predictable... even if lets say the average travel of pass is the same

Reid has a lot of experience though, problem with chip is without out the fast tempo can he call a passing game? The tempo forces teams to go vanilla on defense at times. With gabberts inaccuracy I thinks he's given up on that especially on the road

Im saying, Im pro-defense, and the hold happened within 5 yards, then its ticky tacky... so Ill go with defense it wasnt obvious enough to call. everything in the league is already pro-offense. I wont change my stance just because it was against my team.

the playcall sucked as well. ravens run blitzed that whole series. we had no answer for that rush and ended up throwing a shytty fade to crabtree who was never known to catch those. that series shouldve started with some gore runs (and not fukking LMJ) and for a fourth down play it shouldve been some option play or a max protect designed throw, at the very least a throw-it-up throw because it doesnt matter if its a pick there. instead we had no answer for that blitz blowing up our line completely and the ball was thrown off balance to crabs

Fair enough... I respect that and I guess we have to agree to disagree.

Maybe there was some bad shyt that happened on the 1st 3 downs. Truth be told your memory may be better than mine on the plays called.

But that last shyt shouldve been called.

I mean like just the next year or it may have been last year, but we did that same shyt on D again I think either Cincy or Clev.... and the refs DAMN sure penalized us. It was the game where we gave someone like 10 chances to score in our red zone, cuz of penalties and them going for it on 4th
