Its deeper than rap. America thrives on violence and sex.

Goodfellas, Godfather, Breaking Bad all peak American entertainment. Aint a black person involved in none of that shyt.

AFTER HE'S MADE HIS MONEY!!! That nikka is the same age as me. You don't think he knew in his 30s going into his 40s that his music was wrong? Stop making excuses for these guys. If you don't complain about the BS when you're on top and contributing to it, don't complain about it when you're not the hot artist. Simple as that. He could have made a difference when he was on top!! As for fronting, I assume you've never read my hip hop posts. I've never in my life bought or listened to a Jeezy album. I always thought this nikka was garbage. What happened is that I finally listened to his debut 2 years ago when guys from a podcast suggested I should hear it. I picked a day and listened to it and thought it was decent. Not my cup of tea, but it was good. But trust me, I NEVER listened to any Jeezy, Gucci, Future, etc... If you don't believe that, then you obviously have never read any of my posts . I was 28 years old when he dropped., Do you really believe I was out here listening to that???

That's really the main issue

Jeezy was also 28 when that album dropped, so there actually wouldn’t be a problem if you were listening to that. Now if you’re the same age as Jeezy and you’re listening to NBA Youngboy and his current peers now, THAT’S a problem :mjlol:

The people want whatever is marketed most to them. If it was positivity then it would become what people wanted. It’s how marketing works
This is a one sided argument

People always talk about marketing like its solely relegated to big building corporations but any human being or group is capable of marketing. That said gangsta rap/drill, to a degree, markets itself

Too much revisionist history with no pushback. NWA blew up without radio play because they refused to play it. The streets chose it then the labels came along. If coming up through the streets ain't marketing what is?

This site gets so attached to outdated ideas. We still having this "The labels pushing drill music" argument when drill music ain't been poppin for years:mjlol:Drill died with King Von to be honest. And even when it was having motion the overwhelming majority of them nikkas were unsigned

Most times these labels come around when nikkas been poppin through local and regional/social media fame, and again drill artists were never getting signed like that

These labels care about money. Y'all conveniently forget that Interscope pushed Chief Keef and Kendrick in the same year. Who would you say got the better end of that deal? Matter fact can anyone name a drill/gangsta artist that's bigger than Kendrick?

What you say is true but that also the problem.

Brian Cranston, Ray Liotta, Pacino etc. arent trying to live up to their characters in real life. They arent accusing other actors of not living their films. Young white kids arent emulating them in real life. There are plenty of other depictions of white folks. That is in no way used to define them or held up as any sort of standard of realness. Most importantly, no real people are being harmed.

So yes, people in general love sex and violence. Black folks are the only ones being boxed in and suffering real life consequences.
