every ross album went gold, and thrilla sold as much as the recession(none of them are plat)

ross is self promo at its finest, during the time the CO shyt came out ross start proming his own shyt heavy cause the label wasnt backing him, he leaked mafia music, which had him talked about all over the net and real world alot, and then proceeded to leak half his album

next he put his CCC nikkaz on, and made a entire double disc mixtape wit them, and got them a release date, then he came back and released another solo mixtape which spawned bmf and mc hammer, and then the label got behind TF heavy, and it did pretty good

next signed some up and coming rapper(before he really had a real label deal), and released another mixtape with had the streets poppin with 9 piece and then put meek and wale on 2 of those songs, which he shot low budget videos for

and then got his label deal and made a crazy street and industry buzz wit sm1 and launch wale and meek careers



if u look at 90% of dude videos it done by his own in house camera team, i remember dude was releasing videos daily, shyt was from mixtape songs and they shot the videos while they was own vacation, the nikka even shoots videos for other people songs who he featured own(kanye - devil in a new dress), dude just knows how to promo himself

i agree fully rick is a great self promoter... you're making my point... mixtapes are great self promotion.. you don't just drop a mixtape and disappear.. like lloyd banks


you supposed to drop a mixtape... shoot some videos off those mixtapes... put some money behind those songs you'd like to see blow up.. do some shows off that.. do some press off that... etc etc etc


if you think you gonna drop an album in 2013.. and not release any new material until 2014-2015, when you get another album release... and you think the press gonna stay up your ass and fans gonna patiently wait around for you to come back... then you're basically saying the entire industry is just dumb.. y'all in here are smarter than the whole industry in the ways of releasing music and keeping up a buzz

Jeezy sales went down and Ross sales grew. That is showing a trend that one guy is falling off and the other guy is growing.

TM103 tailed off around 700k and GFID is around 550k. I don't get how Ross would get more pref. Every Jeezy album except TM103 went plat, I dont think Ross has ever done more than 750k sold. MMG is sort of falling off while Jeezy "artist" got a top 20 song right now

Social Networking too Ross' career to another level. After C.O. pics leaked Ross used the overexposure to his personal gain. Everywhere he goes Dre Films/Spff TV are there with him. He could be eating a bacon egg and cheese and its being recorded.

Part of Jeezy's image was the quiet/gangsters move in silence angle. The twitter/facebook stuff doesn't align with his image well. He doesn't come across as a peoples person either.
