Lebron is still playing and in the time span of his career he got drafted to Cleveland then went to Miami then went back to Cleveland but people KILLED him for it ala Kevin Durant today....

People look at Lebron in a much more positive light, because when you mention Miami you mention rings. People will remember, but there won't be all this outrage if they keep winning.

Who cares if the circumstances are a little different, the prime objective was to get rings

LeBron's biggest 'sin' to people was leaving Cleveland and not winning a title with 'HIS' team. He gained goodwill back when he first, went back to CLE, then when he won them a title. That was a direct response to the specific thing that was the biggest knock on him.
KDs biggest 'sin' was going to the team that beat him AND was already the best team in the league before him by far. Anything can happen but there doesn't seem to be much he can ever do to disprove those that believe he's soft for that. Maybe if he leaves and wins one somewhere else its possible but even if he wins 4 in a row with GS it doesn't change anyone's mind about that specific situation

Again, circumstances a bit different but the goal was the exact same. Lebron felt he didn't have enough to win a championship in Cleveland, KD felt the exact same way. We can talk about Westbrook all day and say why would he leave that to join them but it was his personal decision. Lebron just so happened to be born in Akron and get drafted to Cleveland, he coulda got drafted to anywhere else in the league and got hate for it from NBA oldheads and fans still albeit not as much because hometown. But he still joined up with D-Wade and Bosh to create the Heatles. The hate he got was the most hate I've seen in my lifetime by far, and if people can get over that they damn sure can get over the KD thing because greatness trumps all.

That's all logical and makes sense, and you're right that if people can 'forgive' LeBron they can do the same for KD. I just think the people that feel KD was soft will always think so. I don't even know if 'soft' is the right word. But KD did what nobody else I can think of did: He basically guaranteed himself a title. I know people thought that's what LeBron did but they created a new team and knew they'd have no depth. KD simply replaced the worst starter on a 73 win team as an MVP caliber player. EVERYONE knew the moment he signed that they were winning the next 2-3 titles at least (if nobody got injured and even then it was still probable). Its literally never been done. I don't see what he can do to change the bad taste that left in folks mouths

And I do understand why guys a feel a way about it I get it. But idk feel like he saw what Lebron did and how it overall turned out, coupled with the fact that the people will clown him because of no rings, guess he needed that ring right now. Damned if you do damned if you don't

That's why I don't knock KD the man for what he did, I just hate it as a basketball fan. I honestly thought he'd run and get that 1 title this year then move on. Actually I thought he'd sign a 1 year deal with OKC last year, make one more run at GSW after blowing the lead and then moving on. I can understand him thinking 'man I'm 9 years in and no ring. I need to go get one now or risk never getting it'. At the same time there's a reason he's the 1st star to ever do that. Most competitors who look at themselves as franchise players would never sign with either the team that beat them OR the team that's the clear favorite without them. Even if I give him a pass its still true that it speaks somewhat to his mentality compared to other stars'

When I first heard about it, I was kinda confused as to why he did it but then I understood, if thats what he wants to do then so be it. Because I don't knock Lebron for going to Miami and writing his own destiny. KD the type of cat that's hard to predict but I wouldn't rule out a return to OKC, before he's done I could see that

Only in sports is taking the best path to success frowned upon smh. Imagine if you were in, let's say finance, and you were like fukk this compamy I'm with (in Oklahoma of all places) I'm about to join this finance company in Cali that's killing it. I will work with better people and we will be the best finance team in the country and it will be fun as well. And people called you soft for it:what:
:why:no one gonna be mad at those dudes trying to make the most money to provide for their families.

We talking about nikkas who make ten times the amount of those finance teams or any example you can think of by just scoring 15 points a game.

The only thing we ask for is some competition and for these guys to strive to beat the best to prove they are the best.

How dare people be disappointed in a player whos considered top three in the league join a team who beat him n won the championship recently right?

upload his tweet about joint the Lakers and the hear instead of joining them, then think about him being up 3-1 and the warriors, then think about the warriors already having 3 all start and tell me that wasn't a bytch move. This whole discussion really need to just end. You as a warriors fans not gone never change the way people look at kd. NEVER don't matter who say anything about it people already feel how they feel about it. I don't blame u for feeling how u feeling, I see a 3peat coming

facts

it doesnt change the fact KD is probably gonna end up 2nd best SF ever (yes, better than Bird), top 5 scorer ever and doesn't change how amazing he played in the Finals

but he still joined a 73 win team that he was fantasizing about joining as he was choking away a 3-1 lead against them. You can't just act like thats normal shyt for a legend :manny:

If Deion was playing QB..
He would have..
But he got some heat for it too..
But he went and got More or just as much money to join them.. (ecample) he didn't blow a 22 point lead in the forth then join them
Deion didn't get paid shyt by the 49ers.
