Getting the franchise QB is basically luck. From everything Maccagnan ha said to date- it's obvious he realizes they need to continue to draft that position till it happens.
Being in position to draft one is not luck. This ain't the NBA. You just have to be really awful. Tampa didn't luck out and draft Winston. They were bad enough to draft Winston.

That way, you don't have to keep wasting picks on quarterbacks who aren't gonna be shyt.

You were the guy bytching about the Jets not giving Revis whatever he wanted and now you're talking about tanking. Make up your mind.

Jameis wasn't a guy worth tanking for imo and neither was Mariota. Peyton got hurt the right year for Indy. Seattle lucked out with Russell. Washington gave up the farm for Griffin and he sucked. Not even sure who else there has been recently off the top.

I wanted Revis back because they shouldn't have let him go in the first place. I wanted Revis back because Milliner is an unmitigated disaster. I wanted Revis back because I am sick of this team never wanting to play their good players but jumping at the chance to overpay the guys who suck.

as for bytching, that's all you did when Geno went out there and beat the Titans and Dolphins to end the year with the 6th pick in the draft. That was you.

It's not that I wanna tank, but if you're gonna do it, might as well do it next year, because no matter how hard they try, they're gonna be buried against that schedule.

I wanted Amari Cooper. If the Jets are eliminated I'm all for losing games for a higher pick. But going into a year and trying to lose is silly. 10 games and missing the playoffs is rare.

And the Revis trade was 1 million percent the right move. Getting a first round pick for a guy coming off an injury and not having to pay a huge cost to a non premium position is a no brainer. Bad teams trade high picks for corners getting max money. The key is not overpaying for non premium positions...which is why they'll probably let Mo leave if no one trades for him. The Jets don't have any young elite players.

And now Revis is playing Woody. Waits till March to have surgery so he doesn't have to go to mini camp and OTA's after a just ok season where he couldn't keep up with good wr's.

They don't have to try very hard. Hell, they can give it all they have. The end is gonna be the same.

LOL @ Winston not being a guy worth tanking for.

Tell that to Tampa Bay. They made the right choice tanking for him. They're gonna enjoy having an elite QB for a decade+

They were so good this year they fired their coach. I saw a lot of Bucs games and saw him live twice. Winston reminds me of Bledsoe. It's definitely not bad but he's not a Luck or Wilson.

Here's how the negotiations took place between Fitzpatrick's agent and the Jets GM:

Agent: My client led the team to a 10-6 record...

GM: He's Ryan Fitzpatrick

Agent: Oh... well, he also threw 31 TDs, which would place him top 10 in the NFL.

GM: He's Ryan Fitzpatrick

Agent: With that said we think the market dictates my client gets 15 mill a year...

GM: He's Ryan Fitzpatrick

Agent: Ok since you want to play hard ball, we will go on the market and talk to other teams.

GM: :laff: Go ahead... your client is Ryan Fitzpatrick :laff:

The GM takes a peek at his negotiation fact sheet and all it contains is one final statement:"He's Ryan Fitzpatrick".
