Ain't no "Nah." I said "commercial rapper" in my first comment and you questioned 99-01 like you were confused as to why I said that, in which I broke down to you how his status as a "commercial rapper" includes everything he was involved with including his roster and other ventures outside of rap music. The full package. You questioned it and I elaborated. There's no "Nah" after that.

1) You already misquoted me and compared album sales when that wasn't my criteria, 2) then you said "status" shouldn't be used as my criteria as if you have a say so on how I define Diddy as a rapper 3) now you are going back in a circle about what I already defined was a "commercial rapper" for absolutely no reason. Once you did that I realized that you just want to argue for the sake of arguing while totally ignoring me making points on why Diddy is a candidate for MT Rushmore status and if I keep entertaining you, you will just keep going in circles, so this will be my last reply to you.

At the end of the day Jim Jones said what he said and I can understand his reason for picking Diddy on that Mt Rushmore and I already explained why. There's no more to it.

I HAVENT WATCHED THE VID
AND DIDN'T DISPUTE
PUFFS MT RUSHMORE STATUS.

I ADDRESSED PUFF BEING
THE BIGGEST RAPPER IN THE GAME
IN 99, 2000, 2001

Puffy is from Mt Vernon but dude did say NY and not NYC even tho he put NYC in the description. Puffy is not a wrong answer. He was the biggest commercial rapper from 97 - 01. Puffy had a reign.

Respectfully disagree:

97 - Maybe yes, but probably BIG, maybe Mase
98 - DMX and then Jay-Z
99 - Jay-Z
2000 - Eminem & Nelly
2001 - Jay-Z

LOL. You cant disagree with facts. I'm not talking about who had the hot records by year. I'm talking about status.

None of the rappers you mentioned were bigger then Diddy in status. Diddy was always bigger then DMX, Em and Nelly when it came down to status. Jay Z eventually got next to Diddy by the late 2000's but wasn't there in the late 90's/early 2000's.

Yep. Puffys status as a rapper was the biggest over every rapper from 97 - 01. In 02 and beyond he became inactive compared to those years prior. No rapper surpassed Puffys status in those years. No one.

Biggie was only around for 3 months in 97. Puffy reigned that year.

98 - 99 DMX was not bigger then Puffy just stop. Puffy has always been bigger then DMX.

2000 Puffy was bigger then Eminem, Jay Z, Nelly.....Puffy was bigger then every rapper that came out of the year 2000.

Puffys status never fell in 98 - 2000. He was always the bigger rapper.

Puffy, who didn't even write his own rhymes nor ever released a single classic album, was the biggest rapper for a 4 year stretch.

Aight man.

97 - 01 is 5 years not 4. Now how can I take you serious when you can't do simple math. :heh:

And for you to really act as if Puffy albums aren't always bangers. Negro please. The 1st album and his 3rd album were top tier and they dominated the years that they dropped. Just stop. This is the man who executive produced well rounded LPs and classics for Biggie, 112, Total, Black Rob and Faith Evans. As well giving Mary J Blige her first two classics. And here you are really talking as if that same man didn't bring that same magic to his own projects. Just say you don't like Puffy, you can't revise history in my direction.

I know very little about Jim Jones, but a couple of things I do know:

- He is unapologetic from Harlem, and Harlem fuccs with Harlem above everywhere else
- he has no respect for Nas

so I don’t get how anyone is surprised he would have Puffed Diddy on his Mt. Rushmore and not Nas

Hes shown love Nas in recent years though mentioning him as the most stylish NY rapper and wanting a track with him when the Hit Boy albums got attention

But on the flipside he did aso downplay the Hitboy run for his man Berg and his run or whatever and I wouldnt expect like you said him to put Nas over more the flashy fly dudes with bigger commericial success

Not sure why would anyone ask Jim Jones that kind of question. He's too busy wearing women belts and bragging about his street cred or whatever. He don't care about giving props to NYC all time greats. Dude choosing diddler when he was #1 reason NY rapping went downhill with that shiny suit bullshyt.

Nas was his favorite rapper growing up and been giving Nas a lot of love in recent years as far as how he influenced him style wise and how big a fan he was

I think it's because he thinking more from a numbers perspective
