You are talking about album sales while I'm talking about status as a rapper. 2 totally different things.

Eminem in 2000 sold more with MMLP then Michael Jackson did with Invincible in 2001 but in no way shape or form is Eminem bigger then MJ in 2000 or 2001. Same breakdown goes with Puffy being the biggest rapper in 99- 01

Unfair tho seeing as Puff wasnt a rapper or an artist. Dude was a ceo so his status was already in motion as he worked in the industry since 80s/early 90s

According to Wikipedia. "Dolly My Baby" by Super Cat dropped in January 1993. Puffy was rapping on this song before Bad Boy ever got off the ground and made any noise. So everything I said still stands based on the criteria you presented.

time stamped.

And prior to that in 1990 he was a background dancer in Father MC's video Treat Em Like so by 1990 he was a "performer."

Everything that happened in NYC hip hop from 1991 to the 2010s was allowed to happen or not at the pleasure of Puffy.

Diddy is basically the originator of what Drake is. He’s not really a rapper. More like an entertainer.

Diddy is the King of New York culture.

The people you think are king all want to be him.

He dusted them all off, put them in front of the bright lights and took it all away when he felt like it.

He was the architect of just about every trend that swept over the city musically, fashion, slang, cars, the whole 9.

Stop frontin on your king, nikka.
