he made $4 million this year.. top DOTA players make comparable to that this year, theyve had multiple multi million dollar tournaments within 12 month period on top of what they stream AND youtube.
You can name the PewDiePie types on 2 hands man (Lirik, Sodapoppin, that fat guy that goes crazy in videos..none of them appeal to the older generation and none of them play 1 game for much time they move on from game to game and theyve built their niche like that). They are the exception. Majority of people actually getting paid bank in video gaming are because of how good they are. Not too many people trying to watch someone worse than them at a video game
thats the whole appeal of professional sports. Is that theyve reached a plateau that most cant and you are watching the best (or supposed best) play at a high level.
Im guilty of going on live from playstation from time to time finding the hottest chick streaming and watchingI've never watched another player play a game via streaming. I'll sit next to someone in watch them play in the same room though...so I can KINDA see the interest. I just don't enjoy or better yet, have any interest in watching someone I don't even know play a game.
