Don't think it's an outrageous take. Larry Bird's best qualities were his court vision, anticipation and touch around the basket.

I mean yeah he's technically not but the 3 point hasn't really been that relevant to NBA history until the past 20-25 years or so? Even then I might be overstating that timeline a bit
Some of the best players in the league now shoot over half their shots behind 3PT line. That's not something that was happening until very recently

I despise everything about this era of bball. Lebron James could have 100k points and I'm not putting him over MJ. That being said, Wardell Curry is the greatest shooter Iver ever seen. Probably wouldn't have survived the 80s and 90s tho

Larry probably is a better 3pt shooter than the percentages show. They barely took 3s and even he didn't have a green light to take them. Seems like he generally took them in situations where he was either wide open or they needed them. I don't think you can judge him in the modern context.

What does JJ got against White Athletes? First he was shytting on Bob Cousy for playing against plumbers and now he is going after Bird. He seems jealous that the White legends are getting more play than him.

He's pandering to black people hard, but he's actually a confirmed racist

Larry Bird was not a top 3 point shooter of all-time. No debates. May not even have been a top 3 3pt shooting in his own era.

However, some context is missing.

Larry Bird is a legend because he's an incredible player: versatile scoring from around the court due to some elite footwork combined with insane court vision.

Dude wasn't some spot up shooting specialist. Weird way of trying to downplay him.

During his prime had 49%+ FG shooting seasons for 7 years straight, knowing most of his shots were from midrange and out.

That's a rare-tier shooter no matter what anyone wants to say.
