Every single day, Trump admin. cuts programs that help people pull themselves up.

As I said before, its clear that they are steering Americans to fill the jobs that the undocumented do/did. Economy wouldnt function the same once he boots out a significant number of them and discourages others from coming here. So govt. creates conditions where Americans will replace those people.

People who thought that wages for those jobs would rise once the illegal immigrants were gone were misguided.

This is the same reason why they've been pushing for anti abortion laws, anti-unionization, and this "college is useless" message so hard lately.

They want a bunch of uneducated drones who won't push back against their corporate overlords.

I’m not hating lord knows it’s been proven over and over that school doesn’t work for Boys.

I went from A student at Catholic school to dropout. Simply because people knew when I applied myself I was good no one suggested these programs to me.

I heard of other kids getting into them but they were seen for “stupid kids"
So I didn’t go to JC or Upward Bound

Part of the problem was the way nikkas pronounced it I thought it was called Upper Bound.

It was my moms who brought it to my attention I think. Then I looked into it and was like lets see what happens


Especially because it said they had a boxing and Automotive programs (which they didn’t, they closed them).

But it was definitely a lot of what people would call… stupid people. Undesirables, bottom of the totem, rebellious, etc.. whatever you want to call them.

But the program was good looking back on it. It helped a lot of people. I actually was helping people in the classrooms as like an aid for studying and schoolwork for a min until I dropped to my trade.

It was fun times actually.

My only memories of JobCorps is running into some older JC cats at the mall looking for weed since they weren't from around here

They even had like part-time side jobs they gave some students. Me and all the other meathead gym rat dudes worked in the gym, some worked in the cantinas, etc.

Wow. One of my first jobs outta college was being a Job corps counselor.

what kind of job did you get on the civilian side? Nothing related to mechanics?

I was a commo dude in the Army. I could basically do my job but I wasn’t good at the technical aspects either. I got sild into the operations side and then Admin and Logistics which I was good at.

I had some civvy Budget jobs but I had a Quality Assurance job for the Navy that I was in no way qualified for. I only got the job because I was a disabled Veteran.

When I got out I stumbled around for a bit doing different sales jobs. I sucked at sales too. I’m not cutthroat enough.


Got lucky and had a buddy who worked at an internet marketing company. Got in on their sales division. Once I got in I quickly transferred out of that job internally and went to their marketing team. I have no idea why they hired me. I did not have a degree in it. Everyone else did.

Worked my way up and I have been doing Internet marketing for the past 16 years. Managing marketing campaigns. Writing google ads. Working in Google AdWords

A lot of poor white trash used to be at job corp too back in the day…. and a lot of them benefited from the program.. even if it was just getting their GED

My director at my job was talking about this. Job Corps, Peace Corps, all those Corps will be gone. The craziest is gonna be Head Start. Trump...
