• Google "environmental causes of Major depression" there are literally thousands of peer-reviewed journals that explain the different antecedent factors, including but not solely biological, and thus "biological depression" is a myth.

The first and last bullet points aren't real questions that can be proved with science. Please redefine your definitions to something that fit in line with what I said but can also be examined in a laboratory. Scientist aren't omniscient. That is where opinion comes in, if you're well-read on the subject. Obviously clinical psych would not exist if people did not think most depressed people could not overcome it. If it were Biological, we would have safeguards in place to take care of the helpless depressed humans.


Now if you feel that my opinion is wrong, I'd ask you to show me a scientific journal where

• They state Major depression is only and solely inherited and thus determined biologically
• Some kind of statistic that shows the success depressed people have in society is low, even though success is ambiguous
• The same mental disorders that exist today have always existed since the beginning of time. A thorough read on the cultural perspective on mental health will clearly show that this isn't the case and that what disorders plague a certain society vary from culture to culture, time period to time period.
