Nothing like the Lonzo treatment. Lonzo's knee evaporated and they put a donor meniscus in it. Idk what kind of chop shop shyt that is, where he got it & if the person it belonged to got legit paid, or how you can just swap a meniscus out with somebody else's like a lego block and keep it moving. He'll probably have the possibility of it rejecting over his career like Kyle's knees in South Park when he got surgery to be black since the meniscus isn't naturally his. But at the end of the day it's just a knee

Embiid's people are talking about breaking the hip and completely change the way he walks, runs, and everything else to get pressure off the knee just to play some basketball. Breaking a 7ft 300lb athlete's hip is unheard of and guarantees hip replacements after he's done so the nikka's giving up quality of life just to eek out 2-3 more seasons of basketball and that's ridiculous.
Lonzo's meniscus came from a cadaver.

Totally agree about not breaking his hip. He just signed a supermax. He's gonna get paid out regardless.

If he never plays again I'm still a fan

He's never been perfect but he's worked incredibly hard on improving his game and played through a ton of injuries many players don't

A lot of the hate he gets isn't basketball related.

- Because he's African.

- "If I was 7' I would only eat chicken and brocolli and only leave the gym to sleep."

- Because when he gets fouled he's supposed to just be stoic and not react unlike every other player in the league

- Because he's been elbowed in the face so much that his orbital bones never fully heal and he keeps getting elbowed

- Tanking and "the process" is cool when cac teams like OKC of Utah does it but should not be rewarded for Philadelphians :mjpls:

There were three or four seasons where he was maybe the best player in the league.

You have a player like that and don't win at least one championship its a little disappointing. But he's not the first or last guy to be that dominant and still not win one.

He was surrounded by incredible organizational incompetence and terrible draft luck. Fultz and Simmons were #1 overall picks. Jahlil Okafor was #3. Those were consensus picks at the time and all three flames out. Then the Sixers drafted and traded Bridges on draft day for a guy who barely played thirty minutes in the league.

Speaking of the draft, people act like Embiid is some massive disappointment but the two people picked ahead of him were Andrew Wiggins and Jabari Parker

Brett Brown hasn't sniffed a job since they got rid of him for none other than Glenn Rivers. The league forced the Sixers to hire Colangelo who legitimately hated Embiid, his best player.

So yea, I wish we had won more with him. We should have probably done whatever we needed to do to keep Harden. We clearly should have stuck with Butler rather than Simmons and Brown (and Harris).

But over the course of Embiids career there have been lots and lots of teams with way worse trajectories than the Sixers. And anything good on the Sixers has been because of Joel, at least in part.

I hope he comes back. But if he can't and just steals a paycheck for the next few years he'll have earned it whereas there's a very long list of Sixers who stole paychecks and never did a damn thing for us.

Needs to take the year off

I just watched Kawhi bully two organizations

Don't play until you right
its one of those things that you can never know how long his knees would have lasted, but he essentially came back twice too early last year. yeah you can argue freak injury but he didnt look right while he was out there vs golden state, and then played in the olympics. this year they started playing this rest, duct tape, and painkillers strategy in an attempt to make the play-in before they finally shut it down.

like i said he may be broken at this point so it may not matter but kawhi may be the example the sixers need to take. kawhi ended up getting sent home from team usa, probably in his and the clippers best interest then didnt play until jan 4 and didnt crack 30 minutes until feb 6. embiid played in the olympics, wasnt ready for the start of this season then made his debut nov 12 and his 2nd game back on nov 15 was already playing over 30 minutes. take the summer off and take as much time as you need to into next season to try and get right then take it slow.
