Doc got so triggered by those 3-1 lead questions that he made his starters stay in down to the literal last minute of a 30+ walloping while getting concussed in the process, just to make it absolutely 10000000% certain he couldn't blow it. 
Reporters had that fool seeing ghosts out there from all those past playoff collapses so bad that he inadvertently doomed himself to another one for sure this year...

He shouldn’t have been in there that late to begin with, especially knowing how bad his luck is. Doc was so worried about blowing another 3-1 lead he had his star in the game late while they was up a million already
