You just dismiss that an 18 year can't go pro in football because they physically aren't ready, but that's your solution, get over yourself you don't know everything.

And my going pro argument was focused on the basketball crowd...and even on football, its been discussed letting younger kids go pro...not necessarily 18, but at least 19 or 20.

Stay in your lane and demand some accountability from these amateurs.

These coaches and staff are building generational wealth from the sweat of these athletes in exchange for a scholarship. GTFOH....give me what I earned...This America.

You go to school for an education so you can enter a field and make money. Start out at 40k, but these athletes are generating money, millions, from day one.

We all know the real answer is, sports such as college football should be removed from colleges and made a minor league. Where the athletes are paid. The schools won't do this because they will lose millions of slave dollars.

Theres already a baseball minor league and an NBA one. and soccer ones

They're earning millions of dollars from the sweat of athletes who they KNOW...will not use that degree to become successful.

A degree isn't a guarantee of success, but its a pretty strong indicator of being capable of reaching some additional goals, so if you chose to squander that, tough fukkign break.

I've never heard more athletes complain than those in basketball or football. Even the baseball ones tend to do alright. I never hear a word from the swimmers, track and field players, or any of the other ones who go unnamed but work JUST as hard.

I have friends and associates who played D1-D3 sports and a great many of them TOOK that free education and did very well for themselves afterwards.

So basically, they are getting million while the athlete who has no interest in corporate endeavors ends up with donut.

I could not care less about the implications of this sentence.

I just don't see why an amateur athlete wants more recognition than the chance to develop and refine his/her skills FOR FREE

Give them an option:

A. You get a scholarship and the chance to earn a degree, but you don't get paid

B. You don't get a scholarship and lose the chance to get a degree, but you get paid and a certificate saying you completed a university sports program.

Thats it.

That's fair. Athletes should take option B all day at schools where they're generating millions.

So say an athlete chooses B and leaves school with 4 million dollars. That guy has achieved the American dream! He's earned more than 90% of college grads will earn in their life.

He can now take that money and start a business........or blow it. His perogative, but he reaped what he earned. He can take 100k and go to a good school after if he isn't going pro.

Even if he leaves with 400-500k, he still has the beginnings of some wealth and can make some moves.

1. For TALENT RENTENTION
2. As figure heads of major institutions (sports franchises)
3. Performance outcomes

If you're a coach at a small school and fail to do any of that, then thats on you

They're getting paid to go to school and have no financial obligations...and to ask them to be paid is absurd on account of a few sports that make the school money.

In fact, they only reason they have scholarships is because of the cycle of money brought in, in the first fukkin' place.
