I truly feel if he was a leader like Lowry or even Paul George (who's come a long way) he would've got those guys to the playoffs. Injuries or not. The bottom 3 seeds for the east were up for grabs.
You have no idea what kind of leader any of these dudes are. I see John Wall playing hard every night, saying the right things in the media and staying out of trouble. He's doing enough he's just not ok with his team or his career being stagnant. Who can blame him...

I agree the front office and coaching have been there past their welcome. Way past their welcome. But Wall has never been a great leader, and this isn't going to help his cause any. That team truly needs a Paul Pierce type to hold the team together. Wall is too volatile and somewhat moody, Beal has the potential to be a good leader but he's always hurt, and no one else garners that respect.

Not looking good in the Capitol right now, but getting rid of the coach and GM is a step in the right direction

If they landed David West, he would have taken that leadership role. Which is kind of sad.

Like @Rev said, John isn't much of a talker. Ariza, Nene, Emeka Ofafor and Pierce both got on him for not being a great leader. But he's a lot better than people give him credit for.

Haven't players called him into question though?

I know neither of them are front runners. All of those things you mentioned are fine, but that's not the end-all for leadership. Wall has poor body language at times and defers in the clutch.

PG13 and Lowry have the respect of their teammates because they've proven when it comes down to it, they'll step up and win you games or give it all they've got. They'll live with losses being placed solely on their shoulders.

Wall passes the ball off to the other guys and shies away from the big moments. I've seen this repeatedly. Pierce and Beal hid his lack of intangibles last year imo. Outside of the "Big Bs bytch!" I can't remember big shots or clutch moments from Wall. As I've said before in another thread, if you're down down 12 and want to cut it to 4, give it to Wall. If you want to win, give it to someone else. And I am a fan off Wall, this is my fair criticism

Who? Paul Pierce? They had a great run in the playoffs after he said what he said. This season isn't about Wall's leadership AT ALL
When you call out other guys contracts, and act like you're a top tier point guard, it has to be about leadership and performance. You have to get your team to the post season.

Just asking a question, I don't know much about the inner workings of the Wizards locker room

Whenever I watch them Wall is working his ass off and competing hard

I'm sure it's just frustration about being out of the playoffs

The bottom 3?

The 6 seed in the East this yr was in contention to be the 3 seed up until the final week of the season. Maybe the final two seeds, but those teams are both over .500...the East is better than it's been in years breh and WAS took a step back

I find it funny some of y'all are giving Wall a pass for not being a leader on a team hungry for leadership. His impact on this year's team was negligible, they actually got worse from last yr to this yr. it may not all be his fault but he deserves his part in this disaster too

I agree, bottom 2 teams is a lot more accurate. And I predicted WAS and Toronto taking steps back this year (along with Milwaukee) I was wrong about Toronto but spot on with the other 2. I still thought they had enough to get to the playoffs this year. But i will say the coaching and front office situations really did a number on the team's confidence.

Should've cursed himself out. No excuses for him missing the playoffs.
Him and Westbrook had the first 20 and 10 season since 2010 (detonated Williams) only 9 other players have done this in NBA history. Chris Paul, durin Williams being the only other active players to do it. This is far from John Walls fault. Bradley Beal missed like 25 games and after him who else is on this roster?

I can't give him a pass when kyrie never got that pass. Lillard got his team to the playoffs in the west with 4 new starters and no real veterans.

It's not solely his fault, but when you say you're one of the best point guards in the league you have to show and prove.
