I live in the United States
:what:

players i'd take over John Wall no particular order

Kyrie Irvin YES
Jrue Holliday I LIKE HIM AS A 2G MORE THAN A PG
Kyle Lowry NO
Derrick Rose WILL HE PLAY AGAIN?
Chris Paul YES
Grevis Vasquez NO
Westbrook GILBERT ARENAS 2.0
Damien Lillard CEILING NOT AS HIGH
Bledsoe EVEN LOWER CEILING
Ty Lawson GOOD PLAYER, BUT CEILING IS A POOR MANS JOHN WALL (if potential is ever realized)
Mike Conley BETTER SHOOTER, BUT NOT A BETTER PLAYER
Deron Williams EXCEPT FOR YESTERDAY HAS ALWAYS BEEN J.WALLS bytch
Jeremy lin :troll: NO
I don't know man, I'd say John Wall is a top 10 PG in this league.

If somebody made a REAL top 10 list. It would be hard to put 10 PG's in front of him that are CLEARLY better. And you couldn't put 10 and say he'll never reach either of them. Next year, if the Wizards are healthy and still don't make noise? Then John Wall will be working with Shelvin Mack at Hardee's soon...

That's why it pains me to see Biyombo rotting away in Charlotte. Dude may never get a chance to reach his potential, if he doesn't get the fukk outta there.

Its funny cus ppl are acting like John Wall has played all season and didnt come back in mid January from injury (was injured since September) and since hes been back, the Wizards have been a better team. Ppl just dont know what theyre talking about on this site. When youre injured that long it takes time to get back to 100%.

Hes getting 30 mpg and avg 14 pts and 7 ast coming off an injury.

And then you can check out this

Defensive Efficiency

Pre-Wall: 102.0 (13th, right behind the Warriors)
Post-Wall: 97.0 (2nd, right behind the Pacers)

Offensive Efficiency

Pre-Wall: 93.4 (30th, a full five points per 100 behind the 29th place Bobcats)
Post-Wall: 100.2 (21st, which would tie them with the Timberwolves)

But the basketball experts on here will tell you the Wizards suck because of John Wall :heh:

Theyre also a .500 team with wall, as opposed to without him they are WAYYY below .500

People are talking about injuries, saying he's not the worst PG in the league, that he's not a scrub, that the Wizard's problems aren't because of him... all that may be true but doesn't change the fact that he's not a top 5-10 point guard in the N.B.A.

You could basically say that for 90% of the teams.

That's the crux of it. I don't think Wall is the type of player you can use to build around, from the ground up (more so particularly in Washington's type of setting - however my perspective would be different if he was on another team) - he needs a winning culture to truly progress. He's not in a place where he's actually forced to better himself, I mean I have no doubt he's been working on his game - but it just seems like he's content on following the progression of the team (moving at a snails pace through lottery status). He wouldn't have the freedom he's had, playing in a system that's nearing the state of being contenders.

In saying all that, the Wizards are 14-13 since he's been back. All hope is not lost.

15-13 actually but yeah, I get what you're saying.

I think the problem is that Grunfeld and Leonsis for some reason thought McGee, Blatche, and Nick Young being core members (and they were part of the Arenas era where accountability was zero in the organization) would be somehow a winning team with Wall leading them. Grunfeld has squandered picks and cap space on stupid things but that is another topic

I think if Wall had a team like this his rookie season with legitimate veterans that can play such as Nene, then I definitely think his development could have been more accelerated. Besides Arenas and Hinrich early in 2010-2011, the Wizards haven't had a real veteran in the back court or anyone to even challenge Wall. Beal had to beat out Jordan Crawford atleast.

The hype and mishandled expectations put on him were a lot. I was watching videos of the 2010 draft and lottery... and it just hit me how hyped he was. I was out of the country during the lottery and draft so I missed out on the hooplah that happened here but looking at the videos it was just insane.

Its like Gilbert Arenas killed someone in 2009-2010 gun incident but people forget that Wizards team with Butler, Jamison, Haywood, Miller, Foye, Stevenson, along with the young Blatche, Young, McGee was not a team that was in playoff contention anyway despite the expectations of the late Abe Polin.

this is encouraging

the discouraging thing is Wall's shooting and his turnovers. Those two things have to change if this team will be any good moving forward. Wizards also need a backup PG who can shoot and not turn it over too.

Let's be honest this a fairly weak era of point guards, John Wall is arguably in that top 10, if not he's no worse than 11.
